Word on the streets is that they’re going to be “restructuring” my department. Anybody on here have that happen to them? Just trying to prepare myself for anything.

@h7 I work in procurement and there are new teams dedicated to finding external vendor alternatives to all of our products. You thought outsourcing to India was bad we are doing apples-to-apples to replace everything internal with a vendor solution for customers.
SH is retrenching on the HMO built over decades. The world changed and left him behind, with the share price as a glaring indicator.
SH elevated SD to pretend Optum is tech. This failing and SD and his people are destroying us from the inside. Optum AI are OT Indians or fired from Microsoft. SD will replace Product with external products like Infosys system integration service.
Get rid of the products, swap in externals = OI Product is gone ORX, OH on the block too. Get companies like Infosys to sell these "offerings" and you eliminate consumer, marketing, and sales. Ops too as we outsource more! When you think, well we have our network products? Optum Real won't be ready til 2027. UHC is backing out and will go back to Super Connectors.
Say bye bye Optum!
Screaming Rita Conn is out, and Rough Robbi and Beta Benny appear to be next in line. KS could still make it through. EXI results reportedly highlighted dysfunction within the old Consumer Office triggering redundancy evaluations in the reorg and setting the stage for workforce reductions. CXDP struggled since day one.
I mean if Terry Clark bails after constantly promoting Optum PGA marketing campaigns in Town Halls and "Optumism" to join the PGA, then the writing is on the wall for the Consumer Office. Ignorance is bliss lol. If you aren't involved with the "flagship" app(s) or any sort of terrible AI integration (not even a chat bot yet on .com), it's all bleak.
I have heard this as well about the consumer office. I think you will see a marquee name opting to retire. I think the fear for anyone in the consumer office is that they are redundant to similar functions in the organization.
I was laid off from a competitor and they kept "restructuring". New teams were created that I got put on. And unfortunately, they laid us all off less than a year later. Hoping that won't be the case with you. The job market is awful right now.
restructuring here is incredibly common. directors have to put their 'stamp' on the team
Restructuring usually means upline management is RIFed and you are given a new team to report to, usually with some lower level employees also being RIFed.
Optum consumer office
@OP someone will get laid off
What department are you in?
