Severance package negotiations - possible?

Has anyone successfully negotiated a severance package? Is it pretty much set in stone or is there a wiggle room?

If so, what are some things and steps which someone might take to negotiate for a better package?

Depends on what you’ve got, everything is negotiable

@ce honest questions here, how do you negotiate this? What leverage does anyone have to do so? What could someone out the door along with 2,000 other people be able to claim that would entice the company to enhance the package? Asking for a friend lol.

Anyone saying it’s not negotiable clearly isn’t married to an employment lawyer. They are not only negotiable, it’s recommended that you do.

What do you have to lose? They don’t want to be sure. Period. Negotiate.

Pretty sure you only can negotiate before they go out and you’re considered as “raising your hand”.

Sadly no. There is no negotiation. They are cutting you and no longer have any obligation or intention of retaining your services and have no incentive to provide set minimums.

Probably better to ask a lawyer. Some states and companies allow you to negotiate the package. Let us know how it goes if you do

@OP it’s set in stone, no negotiations, take it or leave it.
