@OP Either way you look at it, this company has perfected the art of fostering EXTREME MEDIOCRITY. If you want to maintain your health and sanify, you simply have no other option but to be mediocre (imho).
Do your job, do it well, go home (maybe look for work).😉
I know I’m going to get slammed for posting this…..but…..
There are parts of my job I enjoy doing and teams/groups I get a kick out of working with. For these things, I go the extra mile. Sometimes get some recognition for the effort too.
For the boring grind stuff, yeah, minimum to get by.
just do what is absolutely required - period - I don't know why you would do anymore than that - they have shown that doing more gets you no where and offers no security. If you have metrics - do the meets and call it a day.
