Anyone else hear underwriters will have to be back in the office in a weekly bases? Not everyday but hybrid (I.e. 2 days home 3 days in office)?

UW in CB and are required to come in 4 days/week with 8 hour min/day. We’ve been 4 days for a while and the 8 hour mandate started end of last year.
saw an underwriting job on our job site today that actually said 100% remote was allowed.
I sat in the office next to one of the leaders in underwriting. Non hub so you can probably figure it out. They have been working for a couple of years how to fit everyone into seats using a rotating schedule.
Sounds like @OP struck a nerve. My UW group was required to go into the office one full week a quarter. That started early last fall. Made no sense to me, other than laying the groundwork to make it even more regular. I have not heard of any changes but would not be surprised.
I would not be crushed if I got the Tuesday morning after payday meeting invite.
The goal is to get you all to quit so they don’t need to pay severance when they send your roles to the Philippines.
Don’t worry pumpkin, they are in the process of offshoring your underwriting job so soon you’ll be back to zero days in office. Did you not see all of the UW and Sr UW postings lately?
Oh, poor babies
A huge percentage of the underwriting industry is WFH. If WF is forcing them into the office, that's code for "we don't want any underwriters". They are probably exiting related businesses or contracting it all out.
Only just now? Have you seriously been working remote this whole time?
