At full build-out during NM’s prime years, the site supported roughly 6–8k employees. Today we’re likely closer to about a third of that. The parking lot near F9 was closed for much of the F9 renovation, so it has only recently reopened, and many people may not yet realize it’s an option. Even during peak hours, there are typically plenty of open spaces there. Badge-type parking restrictions (green vs. blue) may also factor into what people are seeing. While NM could accommodate additional headcount from a facilities and parking perspective, wafer production capacity is much closer to full build-out, so growing people capacity would require more inventive approaches.
