Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is anyone interested in exploring a potential collective legal action related to workplace treatment at the company?

I’m asking for those who were bullied, treated unfairly, wrongfully terminated, or laid off under questionable circumstances.

A corporate-focused attorney independently raised this question. One of my coworkers had a very strong case, but ultimately withdrew after the company terminated the manager involved. In another case, an employee reportedly received a significant settlement, suggesting these concerns may not have been isolated.

At this point, I am only trying to understand how many people may have been affected and whether there is a shared pattern worth evaluating further. This is not an accusation, and no action would be taken without professional legal advice.

If this applies to you, you’re welcome to respond or reach out privately.

I would love additional details. I'm currently going back and forth with them. I hate that so many others are experiencing the same issues.

I would think that would've one of the WIM leaders that was laid off due to location strategy as they were out of Palm Beach would have a great case now that we leadership is making Palm Beach at executive area. Maybe also other other employees in Florida can use this.

Have the attorney who is interested request contact information of those laid off maybe within certain perimeter such as those over 50 those over 55 etc.

@OP
YES, though I was planning on a lawsuit on ageism. However, there's definitely disparate treatment, bullying being allowed, etc. in my situation as well.

And yes, the arbitration could get in the way for some things, but congress has also been working on a bill (at least for ageism) to not hold the employee to the arbitration agreement.

@bj
Arbitration agreements are not untouchable
Depending on:
State law
When you signed
Exact wording

Some claims may still go to court, such as:
Certain PAGA claims (California)
Government agency complaints (EEOC, DOL)
Retaliation for protected activity
Situations where arbitration is procedurally unfair

They can sometimes be challenged if:
You had no real choice (adhesion contract)
The terms are one-sided
Fees or rules block fair access
The company violated its own policies

Multiple individual arbitrations can still matter

Even without a class action:
If many employees file similar individual claims
Law firms can coordinate strategy

@bj
Even if you signed it, you can still:
File with:

EEOC (federal)
NC Department of Labor
Internal EthicsLine
HR formal complaint
Regulators (banking regulators matter a LOT to Wells Fargo)

Arbitration cannot stop government agencies.

When and where was it signed?

I don’t think you can do this if you signed the arbitration agreement.
