Has anyone else landed a new role and been shocked by how much more it paid compared to Cigna? I moved into a similar position and my salary jumped by around $12k without added responsibility. It changed how I look at what I was earning before. Losing that job pushed me into something better.

The issue is many people start in front line roles and move up.
I left as a band 4 and came back as a band 4. My salary was $40k higher when I returned.
I was cut last year. Found a better job with better pay and benefits. Unfortunately my new employer offers Cigna health insurance, the good new is, it's cheaper than what I paid when I worked at Cigna. #happyiamgone
Just applied somewhere else for lower position and was offered 40k more a year.
@eb it isn't the koolaid, it is the team. I have worked for awful managers and amazing managers. Leaving to make more money and hating your job isn't always worth a pay increase.
@e7 how great a leader are they if you aren't being compensated fairly. Drink some more kool aid, my friend. The only person who cares about you is you. You are only useful and needed until you're not and then you'll be gone.
I find that if you have been at cigna for a long time, and arent a "top performer" your compensation will lag far behind. I knew several band 4 guys not even cracking 100k with bonus. They thought their salaries were in range.
I recently applied for a Band 5 and the recruiter told me she felt bad because I was one of the lowest paid band 4's she had seen. I have been with the company a very long time. I know I can make a lot more elsewhere, but I have an amazing leader and team. Leaning on the "grass isn't always greener" mentality but sometimes I wonder....
@a7 this year our team had multiple people switch to their spouse's coverage because it was cheaper and better than what we had available.
@a7 I have not found that to be the case as my spouse has United HealthCare at their company and it is exactly the same price I'm paying for the family. Not sure if this is the same across every region. We check annually to ensure we are not paying too much.
Just know you all pay WAY more for your health insurance than other larger companies' employees do. Like appallingly so. #themoreyouknow
@OP congratulations you found a better place! I had the same experience when I joined Cigna a few years ago. Cigna is not a bad place. For sure there are better places than Cigna. Congratulations you found one!
