Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Tomorrow Meeting with my manager

Have been at Nike for 1 year only I beg you all please don't write anything negative on thisnpost.... Send me positive thoughts. OK, so it has been quite sometime that my higher manager has been casually discussing converting my role to an IC role paid by hour!!!! That means saying goodbye to my health insurance, and monthly stability as my income would be based on whatever number of hours I will be needed.....
I am freaking out! I am a single mom with3 kids.... Now all of a sudden I got an email that my manager wants to speak to me about this transition to IC tomorrow... It is decided... what if it is just for one or 2 months until I finish my current workload and then suddenly there will be no more hours????¿ please keep me in your prayers tonight and yes I am so lonely I did not have anyone else to turn to to vent...

Sounds like bs. Author states she will be paid by the hour and she loses her health insurance.
McDonald's pays everyone working in McD stores by the hour except for store managers. All hourly paid employees get Health Insurance, Tuition Assistance, paid Vacation and 401K match.

Not sure this post is real or not but thinking 95% it is just reading the wording.

In which case, wishing you the best and positive thoughts. Jobs are much more than people with money casually wave away, they are how you pay rent/mortgage, put food on the table, etc, etc. and that responsibility just grows like crazy as a parent.

Keep your head up

Are you corporate? Any way, even if they convert you from Salaried to Hourly, Nike Benefits goes off your Presumed Hours (ie Schedule Weekly Hours in Workday). So even if you're becoming Hourly, you'd still be fully eligible for your Health Insurance.

Same would apply to Retail, DC or AIR MI Workers. As long as your Full Time (anything over 30 hours) your benefits won't be impacted.

Also your manager can't drop your eligibility to Part Time. That is only HR.
