The fact you can work for a company for over 30 years and not get one thank you or goodbye from leadership or even your peers is very telling and just plain sad. Before any of you trolls starts saying move on and get over it, just remember your day is coming. I hope this company sinks faster than the titanic.

Just shows the central lie that Verizon cares about you and how morally bankrupt leadership and their associated cheerleaders are
@OP Move on already
management is a-s sniffing Dan’s a-s especially my AD
@ab 100% Sales Ops is the worst
Verizon was always about draining your life force then humiliating you. It’s he-l with name badges and cheap laptops.
Very true. I have 37 years and have been saying same for the last 15 years or so that I have been dodging rif layoffs. I thankfully survived again, ( I thought I was a goner and was preparing for it) I always thought the way people forced to leave and end a career after giving a whole life of dedication is awful. At my age I go to lots of ‘Retirement parties” but never for people who worked for Verizon. Not asking for a party, but to be there as employee one day and just not the next, is terrible.
@c3 the HR person is also gone, plus my boss
@OP One reason for this behavior among many is that they send an email saying “so and so is no longer with the company. Don’t share any company information with them” so people avoid all contact to show what a good boy or good girl they are.
As for management, they are given guidelines by HR and they stick to them: “Don’t you’re sorry! Say the company is always looking for ways to be more efficient and your role was impacted, etc…”.
My boss told me “Thank you for everything!” as I was leaving.
Mgmt su-ks, they've never cared about the people. They talk all that touchy-feely b.s. but in the end a lot of mgmt just saved themselves and their "buddies" and could give a shi$ about how many lives they've just tried to ruin.
They su-k and I hope they go down in flames.
hatchet deserves a special place somewhere for this, and not in a good place.
Well, if you’re an outside tech, you know from the outset that no one gives a cr-p about you. With this knowledge, you can act accordingly. This way there are no bad feelings in the end.
Sadly, it just goes to show that your work colleagues are not really your friends. Make up your mind to not give a fu-k. It’s not worth the mental space. At least you’re getting a fat severance check!
@OP, here are the sick people who you are dealing with….they have no context, no maturity, no sense of emotional intelligence …..just know you dont need acknowledgement …the fact you were here 30 years, THAT is invaluable…your knowledge and experience is gold …..Thank you for everything .
For the rest comments drama queens and kings, please lets have empathy please…your emotional IQ says a lot about you. The more hate you put out, it’s going to come back to you , i promise ….100%
@ae some didn’t grow up rite bruv !
Sounds like Frontier😮
OMG @ad+1kcx1faed…..Do you understand English ! What the OP is saying and your low life drama who no one cares !
"Seems like the only folks who are getting acknowledged are the ones who use AI to post some sentimental garbage on LinkedIn, expressing “gratitude” to the company that stabbed them in the back and threw them away..." - @a4
That was the Stockholm Syndrome being referred to.
Calling out Public Sector Sales Operations
@a8, have empathy and for a moment, keeping aside source IP , focus on the OP and recognize their contribution keeping your ego aside ….
@a8 LMFAO….i hope you recover soon ! Keep provoking , wont matter …you know who you are ! I know …Enjoy !
@a7 not likely.
@a6 watch when you go through the same ! It’s soon and you have no idea or even a clue and will be on the other side
@a4 Stockholm Syndrome.
I personally don't know you OP, but THANK YOU for everything you did. I was impacted as well , never expected anything either. It absolutely stings and I just stopped expecting anything…Me, My family, rest , dont give a flying “duck” !
I hear you … I wasn’t at the company nearly as long as you, but it still stings. I think the survivors may feel “awkward” and they don’t know what to say so they’re just silent. But any sort of acknowledgment or attempt to say farewell or best wishes would’ve been appreciated. Especially when you have gone out of your way to do good work and treat your colleagues with respect and kindness.This kind of treatment just makes you feel even more invisible and disposable, on top of getting laid off.

@OP Our peers are too busy trying to maneuver into job security. Self-preservation mode.
Agreed, you guys should have been more united.
