This is the team that demands a 500% ROI in "hard benefits" to fund a project. Has anyone calculated the ROI of this team themselves?
This is the group established to stall progress because we can’t let let leaders manage their own budgets.
SPR = Strategic Portfolio Review. If you want portfolio funding, you create a business case that outlines why the initiative has clear value and makes sense to do, and they review it and approve, deny, or request more info. Cigna had a process like this too but it was facilitated by IT, I believe, whereas it's facilitated by the EPMO at HCSC.
They are awful. But that should not surprise anyone. They have no clue. That group has a bunch of people who fit the mold of a certain strategy leader. They think they are very important making decisions that impact the company but they do not take the time to research things well.
@OP they are a mix of corp execs from corp strategy, project management office, and finance. They decide which initiatives move forward based on current budgets and strategic need for the org. They are the checks and balances of the org.
It’s a few of the corporate strategy leaders. They decide which initiatives move forward.
