Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

@g9 I just interviewed for a licensed social work remote role at Humana and reading this is troubling. They said we couldn’t have time off the first 3 months. Now I’m worried they’ll lay me off in 3 months. Yikes.

Nothing they do surprises me anymore. The managers overshare their personal lives and make you wonder how they still have licenses or jobs. Promotions are popularity contests not based on any seniority or competence. They have meetings about meetings and only stupid ideas win.

HUMCS sure doesn't seem like the program to emulate.

@db "even though ERP is voluntary, why offer it if you still need the staff?"

I don't know if this is true for everyone... I will just speculate here .. I took the early retirement option, couldn't have come at a better time... and I KNOW I get paid way more than the nurses (and care coaches, obvs) they are hiring right now. So if I go by that, my answer would be: for saving $$$.. they get rid of the higher paid individuals to replace them with cheaper options.

Now, why going though all the trouble of onboarding, training and spending $ on these people to ultimately letting people go later on? Only God knows. These people make so many decisions that make no sense.

ERP is voluntary. Roll the dice if you choose to stay. It’s your choice, not a mandate, although - for me - the choice could not have been easier and I couldn’t be happier. My manager chose to roll the dice on ERP and lost. Again, not a mandate.

Any talk of the bonus percentages we should expect in 2026? THANK GOD I FORGET THAT ACRONYM 😀 Merry Christmas, everyone!

@cc ERP is not voluntary, It’s not a choice when the alternative is a future round of layoffs, shrinking hours, or being reassigned until you quit on your own.
It’s not voluntary when everyone can see the writing on the wall.
It’s not generosity — it’s a soft layoff with better PR.

In 2016, they were hiring 100 CMs a month for nearly the entire year. The next year they let go more than they hired the previous year. Humana does not seem to mind to train and onboard and waste money to do all that. It must be part of the scheme!

@OP - Rinse, recycle and repeat is what they do. I'm sure most CMs they hire are wondering wth they got into if they follow these posts.

Humana at Home did this previously. Interviewed 10s of RN personally and was one of many interviewers. I don't recall now how many we hired but it was a ton. They were almost all let go a few months after. I am sure that many people who read these posts will recall that and could probably give more information.
