Getting cut ended up being the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time. The real misery is with the folks who stayed behind in that sinking ship. I walked away with a clean break and a clear head. The market is rough, but even a slow search feels better than staying there.

Morale is going up at my work center! Sorry but ATT has provided me with a good life. 4 years to go ! 🎉
Job market is beyond bad right now. No joke. Companies are not hiring and there are thousands of applicants for the jobs posted. Then couple that with all the ghost jobs. Best option is to network network network. Don’t waste your time applying to LinkedIn jobs. Reach out to everyone you know at companies, work on upskilling the most you can.
@OP my supervisor used our monthly call to inform me of a significant HR event. Euphemistically speaking, he was letting me go 100 days before I qualified for retirement benefits. As soon as I saw "surplus" I was out of the building. Goodbye!!
Stankey, Legg & McElfresh all said it to your faces: platform...they're employees...stockholders, customers, EMPLOYEES (last). If you didn't hear it, you weren't listening.
They'll realize their mistake in 12-18 months. In the meantime, take stock, decompress, enjoy the holiday without being 'on call' or having to worry about your schedule.
Yes, they're making MILLIONS but they're trading on borrowed time.
I know, right? ATT is a haven for people with limited skills, education, or experience. Those are the ones who fear layoffs.
I hate my life.
Glad to be out as well. Toxic T is biting the dust.
Left in 2020 and took 16 months…..used my severance. Went right back to work….plenty of opportunity out there. I’ve now settled in and found a really good PM job WFH. Good luck!
Fact, businesses took loans during COVID at low rates.
Rates went up bc Dummycrats caused hyperinflation.
Now all those loans are maturing and need to be refinanced which is why rates are dropping. After the next rate drop projected in December, those businesses will refinance those loans.
With it, the economy will blast off and businesses will be hiring like crazy.
Next year will be exponentially better now that we have a real leader in office
MAGA guaranteed
I know what's it like to feel the relief of leaving: that work place weight lifted, the commute and large severance check. But that high soon wears off when you apply to hundreds of jobs without a response, and watch the weeks and months tick by; watching that large severance payout dwindle with no replacement. Then when you are working part time at McDonalds or Walmart, and stare at the weekly check that is but a fraction of what you earned at T, you may begin to think T wasn't so bad after all! Regardless of the T environment, self preservation is the first primary need, and you may not have the luxury of working where and when you want. And if you believe that these are the "golden times' as other posters have said, you need to do your homework and know what the US job market is like now (read thousands and thousands of layoffs at Vz, Tmo, Google, UPS, Target...). In short, think twice before you jump ship!!
Waiting for the letter and say im not moving. Im looking forward
Byeeee!
I'm out soon! Looking forward to it!
Now is the time to make your move. We are in a golden age.
Same!!! I knew the T work environment was bad, but it wasn’t until I got notice and was looking back that I realized how toxic Gargamel made it.
