Hey, all flex people! Don't forget that Maurice expects you to be in the office Monday through Wednesday this week, since Thursday and Friday take the place of your 2 WFH days!

@sm Yes, we do.
@OP unreal, other companies are doing more remote days.
@rf Well, yes, we pull the reports and always doctor our own numbers before passing it along to the upper management. Do you think we are id--ts?
Can confirm that not a single HR employee was in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
Here's the thing - let's say it's true. What are you going to do? Quit? (you won't). Hold a rally in the Chicago treehouse or in the Richardson foyer? (you won't). Complain on this website? (of course, that's easy). I personally don't want to come in 5 days a week, but I'm a realist too. Job market isn't great. They know this. They have the leverage. So, might as well mentally prepare your mind to come in 5 days. If it happens, then you are ahead in your mindset. If it does not, then you are ahead again
FWIW, this whole in office policy hasn't been an issue for me because I'm not a d-mb A55 coming in once a week. You have to work hard to get on the list. So if you are on the list, you are a d-mb A55. The reason they send out that memo about "well, remember, you need to be in 3 days this week", its because they know people will be a d-mb A55 and will try to come in once this week. That is bad optics for downtown Chicago and tax write-offs. Do I agree with it? No, but it’s what it is. Plain and simple. Read between the lines. But down vote away. Let's get it to -100. I'll start it off with the first downvote
Just get your mind right
@h0 Wait and see. We will know before the end of the year if the latest rumors are true.
@jq This is a serious question. There is an employee handbook?
Trying to get HR to clarify this policy was like pulling teeth. It all comes back to “for work arrangements contact your manager”.
I’m sure it’s in the employee handbook but good lord. Is it that difficult to answer a question about a somewhat vague policy?
@h0 I agree. I came in around 10:30 a.m. today, took a lunch, and still left at 2:30 p.m. Maurice won't do sh!t about it.
I guarantee you Maurice personally doesn’t expect anything of us. Anyone in a position lower than VP doesn’t even cross his mind.
@dr If salaried employees have not been working over 40 hours a week, they will be offered part time jobs with reduced pay and a lower level of benefits.
Our VP just strongly hinted at an announcement coming re: 5 days in office coming in December, and that it’s going to be worse than we expect. So what, 6 days??
This is why it's important to do what you need to do during the year so when you take off the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas, it isn't a big deal
@ce and he needs some new bow ties.
@cd get to work Shannon. You need to justify your high salary.
I'm wondering if Maurice and all the other millionaire airheads are going to be 3 days in office like the rest of us. Just leading by example in the most ethical company in the galaxy according to that puff magazine.
No Mo. 🖕
Could be worse. I could stay home everyday and not have a job to go to.
Badging in isn’t a major worry.
Just be smart! Communicate with your manager about what you would like to do and find a solution. Whatever ends up happening don’t post about it here. Protect yourself first and foremost.
It is a ridiculous policy that makes absolutely no sense besides trying to get people to quit.
