Q1 there will be another round, had a business update and our VP said “this round” many times during the call.
I was talking to my SD and she said we are done.
I do not believe her because I think she does not know.
Although. She's very truthful and she never BS-ed
Another 5% being laid off in Jan is what I’m hearing.
I absolutely believe there will be more. Just read Dan’s e-mail from this morning - he said today we “begin” reducing our workforce by 13k. So more to come for sure.
@a6 did Dan actually say those exact words, Layoffs are the new way of Verizon life? Or you mean that was the general jist of his message?
It all depends on the market. Q4 results could trigger another big wave since last year Q4 was the best quarter in years and Dan wants to prove he’s making an impact.
Q1 has been Verizon’s worst stretch in recent years, so they’ll likely push a big wave to appease investors if results are not there.
Honestly I would expect at least 5% layoffs per quarter in the next year and at least one new HQ offshore.
As the hatchet man made clear: layoffs will be the way of life in the U.S. and hiring offshore is the playbook.
Learn this lesson if you learn nothing else: layoffs come with the job. They are eternal. They will never cease.
There's going to be more early next year.
@OP You can pretty much guarantee another one in Feb/March once Frontier is complete.
I would expect after frontier employees come on board another reduction would be put in place. Right now frontier has about 15k employees left
