Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

How it's done

Affected employees will receive phone calls between 8-10am, and survivors will get about a 45 minute heads-up for a 15 minute “business update” meeting where HR and ADs or above tell you who was let go. This usually occurs about 11am.

If you’re let go, you’ll likely get to leave work early on Thursday and won’t be expected to come in on Friday.

Just read this, and I thought others who might have missed it might want to see it too, so I'm making it into a thread. All credit goes to @a3+1ka9y513n.

If we are on the payroll through 2/20 in NJ (due to WARN Act), are we expected to go into the office 3x a week until then, knowing we have no job?

The CEO is really an AI bot. Google in AI mode to see if your laid off.

Field organizations that are impacted will most likely Be told “you’re working till your last day”. When the VCG AMs got let go they kept working as a whole. So did the field ops teams a few years back.

Direct locations is a toss up. In 2018 when there were store conversions they closed some that day. Others stayed open till the Friday before the date listed in that states WARN notice.

This time Dan will deploy AI to make the phone call. This will free up time so management can continue to claim “I don’t know what’s going on.. AI did it”
