Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Foreign workers

I wonder as an American company if they will be RIFing customer service staff in the Philippines or India? Will they live up to their corporate responsibility to the American worker? Like many companies, they talk but won't live up to their rhetoric. Also, H1B visas. Look around you in IT and other apartments that hire labor other than the American worker

The current trend is to give middle managers the chop. They produce the least, and get paid the most.

Only if social media takes off about it, over 90% of call takers are outside of the US. IT ~ 95% non state side as well wont take much to shift that more

Verizon will be doomed as long as they rely on foreign workers. You can’t lay off out this mess.

Vz, like many large companies, will continue to offshore jobs for labor cost savings. Any country that can provide workers with internet access and a laptop, is fair game. This won’t end anytime soon…if ever.
