Bank of America sued over not paying workers for PC boot up time in proposed class action lawsuit

This is very interesting read.
I can see Bridget Engle getting fired and Charlie tossed as well for tracking hours of exempt employees and treating them like hourly. I can't wait to see those reports:) Doubt she finds work again not having a college degree, passing herself off as a techie. Carrie and Stumpf had "eight is great", Bridget and Charlie have "8 hours office tracking."

The link below contains the original text of the ”Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938” that was signed into law by Franklin D. Roosevelt(D) on June 25, 1938.[1][2] The ”exemption” provision section starts on page 8 of the PDF.

@af <--- This guy definitely adds no value. Pacing the isles is probably all this person can do. Needs to be in an office seeing others "work" for fulfillment. This is the dead weight that actually needs to be culled.

HY doesn't give a single S about work location, hours in office, or days in office. They want to get rid of you, compliant or not. All domestic workers go unless your job is sales.

The board mo--ns have convinced themselves that exempt means WF is legally required to allow them to work at home, work whenever they want, never have to actually come into the office and definitely cant make them work at any specific location or for any specific amount of time. In other words, they are delusional and have no idea whatsoever what theyre talking about.

@OP just Google search the following:

“can an employer require an exempt employee to work a set schedule and hours"

I have never been paid to park, walk into the building, or boot my PC. These are serious pay violations. I think we could find billions in unpaid time and bankrupt firms both monetarily and reputationally. This is a rabbit hole and honestly sounds silly.

Exempt is supposed to be pay fo performance. The way the management talks to staff around here is you're being tracked like a hourly worker. I dont want the company to be sued for billions, but I can see it happending. If IT is storing data tracking hours its evidence. The can be in even bigger legal trouble if they try and delete the data.
