Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

By the look of it, we’ve lost a lot of competent people

Why shed all that knowledge and let go of those who knew every nook and cranny of their area? Just to replace them with cheaper offshore labor that can’t possibly bring the same level of involvement or deep understanding of the organization and its specific issues. It looks like a plain stupid move from where I stand.

@OP honestly, I think it suggests that they are angling for a takeover. My spouse works in a vital area of tech, and owned a substantial piece of a pretty important financial product. He'd been there for two decades. His reviews have been pretty much perfect each year. He's not an engineer. His job isn't something I can imagine being outsourced to TII. Not to mention his team is in the middle of a massive cluster-f and I can't see them finding their way out of it without him and all his institutional knowledge of how the systems work, the players involved, etc.. I've been suspecting for a while that Cornell and his heir apparent don't have plans to right the ship. Losing people like this makes me even more suspicious that this is true. Im pretty emotional right now but I've been furious with Target for months and months.
