Even getting through next week won’t calm me down. We all know there are more cuts coming. And, swear to God, months of job hunting have only made me more depressed. Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone. Whatever happens to each of us, here’s hoping something better waits for us on the other side of this sh-tshow.

@a5 The math here doesn’t quite hold up — “three times the rate” means leaders are laid off at a higher percentage, not that three times as many leaders are cut. So the actual number depends on how many leaders there are, not just multiplying the totals.
@a6 TI is a part of so many, if not most teams at Target. I don’t think it’d be smart for them to blanket cut everyone based in the US for every single team with TI support. It would be almost the entire company.
@a6 If we have TII on our team, you’re saying the chances of us getting laid off is also 90%? What if TII doesn’t do everything we do or work the same hours? Still a 90% chance?
@OP you have a 90% chance of not being let go. Unless, you are L6 or above or if TI is currently doing some of your work.
If you’re an individual contributor, you’re probably fine (this round). I HAVE NO INTEL. But according to WSJ, 800 of the cuts are US and most will be management. So that leaves ~200-300 ICs on the chopping block, which is a pretty small amount when you think about it. Odds are you will be ok.
@a3 office of acceleration aka DOGE for Target 🎯… truly we all should have known then
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is likely more layoffs coming next year. Ever since they announced that stupid enterprise acceleration office I knew there was going to be mass layoffs in the US and increased amount of offshoring.
Please please please listen to me, put your faith in the Lord. If all we have is Him, we have all we need. There’s less than a 10% chance you get laid off, and if you do, Target wasn’t meant to be. The Lord has you right where He wants you, and you will land on your feet. I’m stressed out of my mind too and think it’s cruel that they let us know 5 days in advance to the decision release, but we can cling to the one thing that is solid and does not change. Promise, you’ll land on your feet.
@OP I hear you on this one. Trying to figure out who is going to make it or not. Do we have a job still? Even if we have a job now will we have a job the next round?
