Someone quits and months go by before they backfill the role, leaving the rest of us to drown in extra work. Do they think people can just do two jobs forever?

@OP you should be leveraging AI to handle the extra work. Get used to it because we’re going to have to master it to keep a job. Well except for me - I’m retiring.

This has been re-hashed ad infinitum.
They aren't backfilling roles to make their bottom line look good for investors for end of fiscal year numbers. Less salary & health insurance for a couple of quarters makes them look like they are "doing better". It's an old game that this company and others like to play.
Unfortunately, the hard truth is they don't give a cr-p about us. It's about money, greed, and the corporate world. It is not how much work we can or cannot do.
No matter how much they may be warm and fuzzy to you sometimes it is all fake. Tt's about making money $$$$ and covering their bottoms.
