Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

I'm out!

After 6 years, my first pay rise last year at 1% i'm out. I found a better offer on the table elsewhere with more money, yearly pay rise, bonus and way more better benefit.

What made me move, I started to think about my pension pot with that being maxed out at 12% with no salary increase the amount going into the pot will remain the same.

At least with the new company i contribute 5% they will add in 10%, which will grow with a annual pay rise.

'Don't sell yourself short staying here , know your worth, your more valuable elsewhere'

Left last year, retired early and never looked back. No more stresses on a Sunday evening wondering what was going to hit you Monday morning and that was just from internal management. Bully boys are the only ones that prosper here. Don’t wait for a WFR, just ask to be considered/put forward….I think it is actually considered a career progression at DXC.

@aw I can't see there being a redundancy round. They grind people down till they walk out, go off long term sick or ki-l themselves. I realise I stayed too long and wasted my time here. Endlessly blocked from delivering anything useful, and what was done, was slow and bad quality because everyone is pulling in different directions.

It will take a long time to recover. I can't see myself getting a proper job with a real company. Forever tainted by DXC.

Get out now.... Before you join group 3 listed above.

Look at the performance since 2017. Look at the caliber(!) of this fifth iteration of management. Effing fifth group helicoptered into top roles in just seven years. Look at the tricks they play with job harmonization, downgrading seniority and downgrading salary bands, offering 1 to 2% annual salary increases for barely 10% of employees. Nothing good will ever come out of this company. No customer is entrusting them with critical long-term work anymore. Only short-term commodity projects will remain.

All I can say is that when you leave DXC to join another place, it will feel lstrange at first in that the toxic atmosphere goes with you for a few weeks. It actually follows you since you've been conditioned to distrust management and put up a wall of protection. I can't explain it, but it will soon go, since it has nothing to do with your new job, colleagues or culture. But once you leave the DXC baggage behind, life is good. It feels like your career used to feel like before DXC ground you down to a statistic on an excel tab.

I had 2 annual pay rises. A Christmas party - all expenses paid for a well known celebrities headlining the night. Summer events. Family events. Expenses, travel - no problem. New kit - no problem. 2 Pay rises for the 2 years I've been here. In fact, they are not things that people think about now, because its normal again.

Looking back DXC feels like a prehistoric dinosaur - I don't mean because they are still using old kit and selling old ideas, but because it has a very out-dated attitude towards its staff and the gap between management and staff has got so far (from what I read) that I can't see the firm will ever recover. My view is that it will get broken up and profitable bits sold below $10 a share, since there is no future for it. I wasted a few years of my life at DXC - moving on is not easy for those still there. I know, I was also the frog in the boiling water with the 'out of the frying pan into the fire' thoughts. But once you take the step, its fine. In fact its bl00dy exciting and the change - any change - will be better, since the DXC bar is so low, seriously and statistically you won't find yourself in a worse situation that you do at DXC. So just take that step, for your own self respect and your family. Put yourself, your health and well being first and for once and for all - get out of that toxic place. I absolutely guarantee you will feel better.

@OP Many congratulations. I’d encourage anyone to leave if they could. I’m no doubt one of many with a couple of years left max, so every month is a bonus. Just need another VR round and will happily join the stampede!!

Im starting to look but first order of business is selling all my stock so I can actually invest in a company that is growing. Good news is that once I sell I can carry over the loss and have tax benefits when I invest in tech companies that are actually growing. I'm kicking myself for not selling sooner and just putting it in Nvidia or literally any other tech company.

Congratulations!! I left a couple of years ago, and it was the best decision. I definitely miss the people I worked with at DXC. The employees/colleagues were great, the management, not so much. I have seen a lot of former DXC colleagues sharing their after DXC success on LinkedIn. Better training, employee team building, promotions, and they just look happier. Best wishes!

I'll be joining you shortly. DXC are abusing my goodwill and undervalue my skillset. Yet happy to pay new starters to the role way more. I've been maximum out my pension and saving so I don't have to put up with it any more. Given the need to take two weeks at Christmas I might quit 1st Dec which avoids a long handover.
