They lost yet another lawsuit, so always be prepared
Layoffs are always coming somewhere in the company. They're so accustomed to job eliminations they are now part of the operating model.
Stop asking IF and accept that somewhere it IS and it's only a question of what day this month and how many.
Everyone should be prepared with an updated resume and money set back to cover expenses until a new job can be found. In this market securing new employment could take several months. It's also a good idea to keep moving. Constantly scan the market for opportunities. If something is of interest, explore it. Loyalty means nothing. Make yourself and safeguarding your income your #1 priority!

again I thought that's what the early retirement was for. Are they going to layoff again?

Layoff communications are usually done earlier in the day and not in the afternoon.
They most likely won't tell people until the very end of the day. They want to get as much work as they can out of an individual, before letting them go.
