Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

US oil giant offshores 900 well paying Canadian Jobs

Should be the title of the press release.

Most of the analysis and decisions were led by ExxonMobil employees in Houston and elsewhere in the world. Imperial despite being an independent publicly traded company was puppeteered by its American masters.

This should be headline news everywhere in Canada tonight. But instead, given it doesn’t affect Ontario or Quebec it will be swept under the rug.

What happened to elbows up?

Welcome to the party. This has been happening to those of us at EM since covid. We have not been happy in the least bit and the quality of what you get in India is about as good as the toliet paper in the bathroom. They have great paper degrees but are incompetent

While selling Quarry Park will impact some jobs in Calgary, it won't cover the target of 1000 layoffs.

100 employees from Sarnia Research losing jobs.
250 employees in Moncton laid off.
Where were you then?

Don't make this into an East vs West thing. We are all ignored equally and sc--wed by our senior leaders. This will be national news and rightly so.

Betrayal at Home: Imperial Oil Offshores Canadian Jobs After Exploiting Resources

After decades of degrading Canada’s environment, draining communities, and profiting from our natural resources, Imperial Oil — under the control of its U.S. parent giant — is now shipping 20% of Canadian jobs to India. For Canadians, this isn’t just corporate greed. It’s a blatant betrayal of our workers, our economy, and our future.
