Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

It makes no sense

The latest round of layoffs has taken some of the most skilled and experienced people off the team. Losing that knowledge and expertise is a huge hit, and I can't see how this benefits the company at all. Why are the people who built real value the ones being let go?

@OP WE are ALL Replaceable as simple as that! I have seen 15, 20, 30, 40 years of service veterans let go not even time to say good bye. It should not be a surprise.

@ay I don't know how emails sent and zoom meetings are used, is that really a good indicator? What about activities on applications? That I believe is tracked

Oracle is run by greedy accountants (or just accountants). Best workers for larger salaries and larger RSU package. They are clawing back RSU before it starts vesting on September 15.
And those who claim you still get your RUSs vested - check the fine print of your contract. RSUs don't vest during "gardening leave", so the moment you are notified and access is cut - say bye-bye to your stock promises.

Because they are managed by greedy people.

No one seems to be able to find a pattern how those to fire are selected.

My best guess is that this is executed by higher up managers using Ai to compile the lists who to fire or not, given input about salary, level, how many mails sent, Zoom meetings attended etc. And that they don't know about Ai hallucinations and think Ai is making excellent choices creating a trimmed down Oracle that is strong and profitable.

I hope I'm wrong. Imagine if this senseless RIF is all built on Ai hallucinations... :/
