@OP You might be able to negotiate 2 weeks at the employee rate for every year of service. For example, 6 years (12 weeks) or 3 months @ $100 month and then the next 15 months @ $1000 month for the same cr-ppy insurance you always had. As an added bonus, you get to navigate through your wrongly denied claims with your offshore replacements.

You pay your employee rate for the duration of your severance period. (Example: 10 year employee, 2 weeks severance for every year, severance period 5 months) After that, it's full cost.

Yes, the majority of it. You'll only have to pay around what you were paying when you were employed for the time stipulated.
