Thread regarding Chevron Phillips Chemical layoffs

future waves are not planned at this time

From the emails and town halls, they are outsourcing some departments in two waves. We are near the end of wave two. We all received the email that future waves are not planned at this time.

But with AI, tension internationally, cheaper international call centers, demand for product changes, who knows what the future looks like.

And to the comment: umm yes, if they let people go they are probably age 40+. The people that continue work here are also over age 40 on average. Not sure why you made a comment on age, oh because you don’t work here.

@OP they need to be sued! Age discrimination is rampant & evident in 1st round, but they covered their as--s! But still shouldn’t excuse them from getting what they deserve! Also know lawyers calling former employees about antitrust class action lawsuit concerning alleged pricing colluding! Karma is a bi--h if that’s pending! Proved once and for all NOTCaring by Choice is their mantra!

There is supposed to be at least 1 more wave coming. It was mentioned that they are looking at cedar to trim down the technical staff. It was also mentioned they are looking at replacing with contractors. This is why IT is pushing so hard to get access into your secure networks that should be air gapped to prevent outside threats.

Not to mention letting “bosses” that shouldn’t be in management at all make decisions to let people go…..CPC is not what it was when I signed on, kind of glad to be out now….

been a ride hearing all these rumors these past 6+ months.
layoff gonna happen every month (the most recent i've heard now is june). possible announcement after every townhall. significant restructure / reorg, especially at our flagship site any day. forced relocation to our less popular sites. cutting benefits first. no offers or raises for GRADs. etc.

i think the one rumor that holds true is that they purposefully set targets that we can't achieve so they can lower our bonuses and put the fear of unemployment into us.
