@44d...wait, what happened when you were an alter boy...?

@4bw appreciate the suggestions and your ability to show civility. There is hope for you…perhaps? btw, my retirement is filled with interests, in a small way this happens to be one of them. I get all the cr-p that goes on at Mattel and not to sound trite, but attempting meaningful difference helps in dealing with the bs. Exactly how do you want to look back on your career?

@4be HINT: something to do with your retirement days - crossword puzzle, scrap booking, stamp collecting.
There's a lot of fun things out there for you to do you know. That is instead of coming here.

@48k right, as in speaking indirectly about those you work with on this site. Not only are you cowardly, but you don’t even recognize your own ignorance. Try standing for decency and helpful change rather than needless insults.

You know what's abhorrent?

That holiday Barbie. Ugh. That thing is a shameless cash grab at this point.

@48k I'm sorry if you thought it innuendo. I was aiming for direct.

@481 what an abhorrently pompous example of a human being you are, but please continue on with your explicit humorless innuendos, you’re only insulting yourself.

@470 tell me, what do retired doormats do? troll their old employers complaint boards? LOL. you obviously lack a hobby. me? i do this for entertainment on the side during our boring meetings because sometimes i can't stand the droning mattel speak of the id--ts around me. especially when they latch on to the new term of the year. listening to these fools around me makes me want to jab a pen into my ear. and i'm pretty sure you were one of these drones when you were here. just drinking the kool aid like a doofus with all the other doofi.

@430 thanks gramps for that trip down senility lane. So glad to know you had a tor-mentor back in the day. Reminds me of my own special mentor at the archdiocese when I was an altar boy. Did you get special wine too? You should come by during Halloween, you don't even have to dress up. You can just come as a dusty old mummy and tell all the new kids about your great times with Ruth and Elliot Handler. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to hear how you invented the wheel.

@440 hah? First of all who sez I'm having a hard time in this cesspool? I'm under no illusions like that old ge---r that's all. He was a boot li---r while he was here and good for him. You just gotta look all these fakers in the eye and not fall for the corporate speak. I get my business done and I don't need to polish anyone's tu-ds doing it. He likes to wax nostalgic about his good ole days. This place has no accountability. I mean yeah we're supposed to come 4 days a week for example but how many people actually do that? No one enforces it. That's why lazy people can hide and thrive here. Believe you me I'm not here for the long haul. I'm out next year on my own accord rather than someone handing me my pink slip. And it'll be funny to see their faces when I tell them I ain't giving them no 2 weeks notice. Ha ha ha.

@416 Gotta throw my two cents in here. You seem like an a-s. If you're having such a hard time navigating Mattel, it's a good bet it's all because of your attitude.

Post ID: @440+1kac9sx34

@416 you know, you are absolutely right, you should go on with your beliefs as to how and why things are. I was thankful for all the advice and mentoring I received, it provided me with a fulfilling productively successful career. How naive of me to think that your animus could be tempered by some unsolicited “advice”…I wish you well.

@3nh what is it with you retirees thinking that just because you're old that you think for some reason you have sage advice that you want to dole out like so much spare change. Save us your fake magnanimity and keep your "advice" to yourself. No one asked you for it. I swear when I get old I will never want to share anything with any other generation because that would be extreme hubris on my part to think that they would even face the same circumstance I did. And even if they did, let them survive it like I did. So again you and your "oh nothings perfect generic outlook about corporate culture let's just deal with it" cr*p. Sounds like you were a total doormat. So lie back down in your grave and just wait for it to come. Loser.

@3nd Mattel has been a dysfunctional mess for as long as I can remember, like any other corporate culture for that matter. You have to make the best of it and work through the reality of it all and find peace with it or move on.
Call me what you want, just trying to pass along some helpful advice…it sounds like you sure could use it.

@3mx then you're one of the said has beens that troll here and can't let go. move on old timer. move on. go troll on facebook or something because no one remembers your 35 years of mediocrity. find a different hobby than still trying to get involved where you're def not wanted. so sad.

@3j0 actually I had a very meaningful 35yr career at Mattel and left happily on my own accord. You on the other hand are filled with a vitriol that reeks more than the stench you speak of. My guess is your productivity reflects your attitude, which in turn explains your overall disposition. My advice is as you’re trying to figure out how to make do with yourself, you may want to have that posterior fetish evaluated.

@3ge bruh who you trying project on to? You're the one who is up to your ankles in someone"s posterior and calling it culture. You actually think survival here is about whose back you hide behind. Your ineptitude can only hide for so long until your usefulness has run its course. And then let's see how you fare in the "real" world. Now that would be reality.

@3by welcome to reality or are you so naive to think a perfect corporate culture exists? Perhaps you’re disillusioned, with the belief that you were raised within the perfect family unit. I hate to burst your bubble, but disfunction exists everywhere, it’s called life. It sounds to me like your parents didn’t do a good job preparing you…you sound like a child.

@37h and you my friend are so busy burrowing yourself up the corporate sphincter that you've lost all your self respect. You do realize I'm right don't you? That at there are only actually a few in management here that actually do have any practical talent? That the rest are here because of their ability to coast off of the work of others? And be honest KC was not a nice person by any means. She talked cr-p about everyone behind their backs. She was indeed humbler way back then. But power gets to everyone. And it brings out the real person inside. So stop making these people seem like they're some kinda saints and we'll all miss them. They all got huge bonuses while they looked you in the eye those years when they said we'd have to su-k it up and go without merit bonuses or increases that year. Yours truly, retributionist

@30j, I am so impressed with your ability to covey such enlightening observations about those no longer employed. You remind me of someone who got their a-s handed to them with no other means of retribution.

@2nc hahaha you think SVPs from Mattel are in high demand?!? Are you so institutionalized that you are @$$ kissing the departed? Who will pay these guys the same salary they were getting to do virtually nothing?
What do you think they will get after this? No one will pay them to sit around and do fake meetings all day and go to fashion shows. Get real. This is a toy company. And they are pretty much bloated obsolete caricatures of a forgotten age. If they get a job again they'll actually have to work. And I don't think they'll be getting the same perks they got while living off the backs of the Mattel chattel. You are m0r0n. Put your nose back into your new boss.

I worked with Girls SVP KC, since she was a lowly manager in Barbie 20 years ago. A good person who will join the club to make more in her post Mattel days. It is a good feeling to be free of Mattel and be in high demand.

What about MB, a high level "development" director or sr. director, with no technical training, in a position that usually requires at least a BA or BS in some type of engineering field. Is she qualified? I think not. She got there by way of political maneuvering. Will the recent lay-off of her champion affect her status?

The marine is a truly miserable person. He'll smile to your face, ask your opinion, and then disregard it. He has no life beyond Mattel, and he expects the same out of you. I quiet quit while working for him. There's a reason his old assistant was always in tears.

The marine is an a$$hole. Always has been. No one in the Mattel chain of succession is proof how detrimental that guy is. Hopefully departing as he is one of the reasons Mattel has the reputation it does. That is almost indispensable.
