Today HR announces that CVS will no longer support H1b or any other visa type to hire foreigners.
American jobs for Americans!!!! YES!!!!!!

@47t Try thinking a little harder: If a job is offshored, no one needs to come into the United States, therefore no need for an H1B. And as mentioned elsewhere, if a contractor for CVS decides to bring people in, that just means that contractor does the H1B sponsorship.
But TCS does the sponsorship.
CVS will not sponsor, but CVS can hire contractors who are on H1b, they can offshore it to India or south america for cheaper costs. You guys don't get it do you?
This isn't a sudden bout of patriotism or a moral imperative to do the right thing.
More likely than not, CVS decided it could save money by not having to deal with all the employer side work for H1Bs.
Why go through all the trouble of bringing workers in the country just to pay them the same cr-ppy wages CVS would pay to Americans? The only good offshore worker is one that stays offshore and you don't need H1Bs for those.
And for those who argue "yeah, well, if they bring in more H1Bs they will depress wages more," go look at the CVS pay scales, they are pretty much at the lowest possible rates that will still get warm bodies to show up. Jenny from Pawtucket can still live with her parents while convincing herself that at least the work will add something to her resume; Ajay from Bangalore is going to politely turn down the offer to work for CVS in America.
More DEI jobs for mediocre white men. OP is a racist. You must be terrible at your job. Jealous.
Most of the companies stopped hiring h1b.
But the people who are already on h1b and on cvs payroll they cannot stop filing visa extensions.
LOL! We just got a whole new batch of offshore analysts! Did they massive hire and then put this in the hr policy materials?
Actually, it’s documented in the HR policy materials. HR just updated the sponsorship policy earlier this week.
I'm very happy for such change. Jobs for Americans.
It takes more money and time to fix the mistakes the Indians make then if CVS would have just hired someone domestic to do the job. The Indians I had to work with recently su-k.
FAKE NEWS. HR NEVER Sent any information as such.
Doesn't help twith ones already hired now does it?
Any company needs to rid itself of unqualified people. Automatically conflating Indian colleagues with unqualified characteristics is just wrong.
I can tell the same person who wrote the post is the same person who responded by the ridiculous number of exclamation points used.
Great news indeed!! We need to find a way to get rid of Indians (esp those in IT dpt). I'm wondering if there's any way to report hiring discrimination. They only hire their own people. This needs to be stopped and investigated!!!
