@3zp I agree that they are giving dull A.I. tools to the masses.
But, a few employees do get the good stuff.
Also, Met is more likely to buy solutions rather than grow them in-house.
So, they might buy bots for customer service, or buy security/quality scanning software for IT, or buy legal review software for the law department. In each case it could reduce the number of employees needed.
@3ze despite the public messaging, MetLife is not investing heavily in A.I. It will be MANY YEARS before A.I. takes over a large portion of jobs there. Employees really are expected to produce miracles with the FREE Co Pilot Chat. As usual, MetLife being cheap AF, but pretending to be on the cutting edge. I suspect they are on the hunt for a cheaper TCS. MetLife still hasn't learned you get what you pay for.
We have to step back and think about why TCS is on the way out.
Has the company realized that it is losing control over important business processes?
Is it a cyclical contract re-bid thing to try to keep vendors "honest"?
Is the company willing to pay more to get things done in house?
Is there a cheaper alternative?
And the big one: Does the company think that they can replace some, or maybe a big chunk of the work that TCS was doing with A.I.?
If it's the latter, then the work is coming in-house only temporarily.
My TCS onshore resource was told to start looking for employment elsewhere last year. It's no secret TSC is on its way out. Those who keep their blinders on will be in for a rude awakening.
I was asked to identify key onshore TCS resources. What they do and impact if they left. This looks to be the reason.

I was told last week on the correspondence art they already got rid of tcs but hiring them all as full time employees. So they are firing American workers and off shoring their jobs then literally hiring the ones here on visas away from tcs.

Our team was asked to create a listof all TCS resources and any skills or knowledge they have. We need to identify an FTE to transfer to. We were informed it’s for breaking down silos sharing work and cross training. I think it’s because of a vendor change.
Might be just a negotiating gambit to drive the price down.
