Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

I was laid off in March

I was laid off on March 5th of this year. At the skip-level meeting, my Director and HR said I could apply for any position within six months. Once I hit the six-month mark, I applied for three jobs and was rejected for all of them. Is it possible that HR lied, even though the layoff document clearly states I can reapply to any position after six months? I am afraid that my manager blocked me from getting rehired. How can I find out? Because if she did, I want to sue. I can not trust that woman, she smiles in your face and stabs you in the back.

@3s6 - After being placed on a PIP (which was a shock because in over 5 years there I never once got a bad performance review) I was held to a much, much higher standard than everyone else on the team. I did everything they asked and more and was released from it, but it came with the caveat that they could let you go at any time without providing any justification. I was laid off six months later (2 days after a performance review with my manager where that POS said everything was going great). They were just using it to leave a paper trail to lay me off without having to pay severance.

@3s6 You must work in Clifton.
Amen to everything you said. And most of those dirt bags are still there. If you get laid off, don't EVER go back. You're a loser if you do.

It's not always the underperformers that are laid off. If you think that's the only reason people get laid off, you're being naive. This company has always been "friends and family" first. If you're someone who got your job through friends or family, you won't be selected for a layoff no matter how badly you perform. Same thing goes for employees who made their bones ratting other employees out. Management minions who save themselves by "getting dirt" on others at the behest of their supervisors. An employee placed on a P.I.P. will get 3 times as much work as the others just to set them up to fail.
Corrupt supervisors play games by allowing some people to continue making mistakes rather than correcting them so they can build a case. L3harris is infested with this type of sc-m.

You’re allowed to be rehired, but that doesn’t mean you would be a good hire. If bottom performers are those selected for a layoff, laid of employees are not my first choice of candidates. True of those laid off from ANY company.

Yeah I got the axe then too. I’m sorry this happened to you. All a game from a bunch of people who’ve been doing this sort of thing for too long.
But you’ll get something. L3harris is not easy to get into. But you did. You’ll get something. I took a few months off and will be joining another company, in a few weeks. Keep battling. Best wishes.

@19w Not true. My former supervisor in Clifton was laid off during the April 2024 RIF.
He went crawling back for a lower paying position a year later and was hired.
Clifton is so desperate for warm bodies, they'll take anyone.

Once removed you will never return - standard policy.

Why would you losers even try to go back?

I was told the same thing in April 2024. Waited 6 months, applied to several and didn’t even get to speak to recruiter. They definitely have you flagged in the system, although they will never admit it. Consider it a blessing and never look back

I too was laid off (in April) by an untrustable snake of a woman who stabbed me in the back as wee. It was hard and took a few months, but I was able to find a new position that pays me almost twice what L3Harris did and I don't have to deal with all their corporate BS or that micromanaging snake of a manager anymore.

Take the layoff as a huge blessing. Don’t look back and regain your sanity.

Does your job not exist anywhere else? Why on would you wait at the door for someone to let you back in for 6 months? Apply elsewhere, as many applications as you can put out, best of luck.

@d9 ++ on this advice. The best revenge is to move on and be successful some where else. Like Don Draper said, "I don't think about you at all."

@OP There is no way you will find out. If the environment is that toxic, and we all know it is, then move on to another company. Why would you want to breathe the same air as her anyway? Even if you get re-hired in another department, her and her minions are going to undermine you anyway.
Trust me. Been there. Had it done to me.
Get rid of the rearview mirror and hit the gas my friend.
