Rumors are flying around that we are going to have an across-the-board 10% RIF in October. Tariffs and reduction in demand for aerospace products are driving this RIF.

My friend was walked out the door this morning at the Cedar Rapids facility. He had 20 yrs of service.
@3gm OMG Ain’t that the truth!
Especially sending employees over here to the Melbourne Fl site from Mexicali Mexico to train them basically to do our jobs. Because after all, we are getting new products so we’re sending our old products technology to Mexicali it’s all BS. We’ve been lied to!
In Savannah we heard we may lose 10% of our workforce in November
Mostly managers in Melbourne reckon. They aint doing too good. Setting in them tiny work stations all day, wondering when the next shoe gonna drop. Should’ve stayed in school.
Quit. Offshoring. Everything. Collins.
@OP it’s not a rumor. It’s real where I was working in the Melbourne site. Our parts are made in Mexicali Mexico, tariffs are hitting Collins aerospace. Good! POS
@1m8 Lay off’s firing is all the same. You don’t get a damn email. They walk you out like a damn criminal or you are told you are laid off and if you are lucky enough in the club you will get a severance package, but still walked out like a damn criminal.
@hw Yup walked out last week after 10+ yrs of service to the company. Nearing retirement they would have had to pay me severance pay, but instead fired!🤬I’m not the only one who worked hard replaced by young ppl that don’t work! It’s really a sad day in the Aerospace industry.
@q8 how were we made aware? I have yet to see anything through corporate emails..
@gm No rumor, employees have been made aware it's happening
Same rumors are flying in Melbourne, Fl
Yup I believe it. Some parts are made in Mexicali, Mexico and because of tariffs products will be on hold don’t t know how long. Where I work there has been many engineers laid off. A few managers they worked for this company 30+ yrs. was sad. Some ppl fired for not meeting production %. The atmosphere in the air is layoffs.
Was this gleaned from anything definitive or just gossips?
