He's cashing out of his contract and is hitting the golden parachute. Typical - he came in, wrecked everything underneath him, drove off anyone who wasn't a yes-man, then proceeded to cut all costs down to the quick.
When it came back to bite him (viz. the biggest hack of ADP or CDK history), he quietly sat back and most likely shoved blame on everything and everyone else.
No sympathy or empathy at all - he never had any, and he deserves none.
