Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

How many laid off in recent round?

Looks like they’ve done it again… kicking hard working people out :(

Just remember that everyone at Apa that got promoted too fast was eventually let go

I always think it is funny when Apache posts something about career day or careers in oil and gas. Apache has provided very few with a full career of employment.

If AO couldn't keep his job and they finally got the stones to get rid of AJ then no one is safe, which begs the question when will they finally wake up and get rid of MegaMind?

@3gw perfectly describes the Apache situation. If Apache did not have the benefit of high oil prices today the demeanor of the place would have been dark

Unless you are on the ELT you are on the cutting board, directors especially as it's a high-dollar role. first the VPs then the Directors...next blood bath will be the managers Apache is a case study in Culture of Fear

Most of those "Directors" are in the same boat as everyone else. Holding on for dear life, reacting to the daily redirections from the ELT. Who are the only group that hasn't been impacted.

@3bz
"Developing future leaders" implies there is a future

If the gap between directors and remaining managers is two pay grades or more, it makes you wonder whether directors are protecting their own positions rather than developing future leaders. (fact)

@2h0 experience is a liability there. They might question ridiculous decisions

Approximately 25 employees with most being back office. Most were over 50 years of age. Some may have been given a departure incentive. Apache now looks younger and whiter….just an observation

How many people are left? How many floors are needed when they continue laying people off? Does the new building on BW8 have good vibes?

@jm more likely to give themselves a raise for making ‘tough decisions’

Well at least they cut the executives' pay since they're managing fewer rigs and people now, right?

... right?

And JC still banking 8 figures salary… that they don’t even disclose anymore because it is embarrassing.

Yes, but at least they were able to maintain their $1.4 million contribution to API and the US Chamber, because that is critical to survival.
