@32m Not being chopped up and tossed into a well is always a good sign that the meeting went..well.
LBT did not meet with MBS but also did not get dismembered, so looks like a deal is about to happen.
The next big scam title is that Intel is going to use 18A to produce AI chips for M, S, F, T, A, W, S.
The next big announcement is that Intel is investing some infinite amount of money in OpenAI, so that company can buy an infinite amount of Xeon chips.
Intel will then use that massive increase in revenue to invest more in OpenAI.
The market is well into the late stages of an AI bubble, so expect magical thinking and wild speculation here, there and everywhere.
Until of course the bubble pops.
That said, Intel is starting to look like the preordained USA version of TSMC. Like it or not, the gov't has instructed Big Tech to get onboard.
The AI bubble popping will put a dent in the plan to have Intel be at least a second source for all mega cap tech companies in the US, but it won't stop that effort. And AI won't stop either.
@da
You're just a middle-manager bureaucratic brat
Promoted through a Gold Old Boys Group you never really had back
And you tell me that we've got to get busy
For the Questioning Customers with no Node or design (whoever they are)
You talk, talk, talk about the suffering and pain
Your mouth is bigger than your entire brain
What the he-l do you know about suffering and pain...?
There's nothing wrong with the nepotism
There's nothing wrong with free pay checks and stock
Don't try to make me feel guilty
I'm so tired of hearing you peons cry
Of course Intel will use 18A regardless of yield.
Yield required to generate positive return on fully burdened wafer cost vs.
Yield required to generate return on variable cost only
Yield would have to be near 0 to not run any products on the node ... even the learnings are worth something for next node to run prod on
please don't say such silly things in the future now that you understand the situation.
Talk talk talk. Lol. I’m just amazed that nobody in the corporation has publicly acknowledged the embarrassment of it all yet.
@d8 I use mustard on my 18a
Would be promising if there was a rumor of Intel using Intel fabs on ANY chip. Using TSMC on 18a tells everyone everything they need to know.
Everyone talks to everyone in the industry at some point and does business meeting lunches.
There's no guarantee that any big partnerships will come from it.
Maybe the investment stops at the free lunch.
Intel is talking to Intel , later Intel places a new order for Pringles & Lays chips for meetings to go smoothly.
