They are saying layoffs Mid Sept for some and Mid Oct for others on Optum side...shared services, wellmed, ect. What does it look like for UHC/UHG? Should we be expecting the same. The Steve H email makes me think we should.

Just got an email droning about transitioning to a global model, but no jobs would be cut. Like I believe that. My department is an absolute dumpster fire. Crazy hold times for members, half the department in training for whatever, and calls being dumped in from everywhere. No one can explain why this is happening.
Anyone heard about layoffs for UMR? I know some have a teams here in the US and offshore. Are they planning on getting rid of all US employees for UMR?

Confirming OT layoffs are going to happen - US staff only. Will get more details tomorrow, but the Steve announcement from a week ago was exactly what ya'll thought... "tough decisions...". Big Sigh, here we go again. I think we can all agree, the go to is to use layoffs like an easy button instead of hunkering down on getting rid of the leadership that got us in this mess, and getting alignment within the business units and OT on priorities. Divesting has got to happen and we have to get rid of the dead weight. You can't glom all this in the AI first bucket and call that a strategy.
Also layoffs in Optum Serve, Optum Tech, and Optum Insight. Expect more in Oct.
Yes, can confirm layoffs on Wellmed side. Nurses/case managers. No front line people, mostly management.
