Did anyone else hear rumors about the Glendale announcement at the Town Hall?

Ok but they’re not really expecting to have cut staff in half/half/half/half over the last few years, demand more by EOY, not give us bonus AND still buy their way onto those fake “best places to work” lists are they?

It’s never “this town hall was so full of good news we need a q&a after” so…

This thread represents exactly how toxic the culture at Mattel is. Every single commenter is FULLY aware that bonus isn’t announced until the town hall after earnings are reported. Earnings will be reported end of Jan, bonus will be confirmed at the town hall in Feb and paid out in April.

It’s not us against us, it’s us against them. Let’s fu--ing act like it.

@2nb very true, but I would add; don’t forget to also save about 15% of your gross income for retirement each year.

Bonuses are great, but they're not guaranteed

Unpopular opinion: You shouldn't rely on that extra money and hope it covers your expenses. If you can't live off your base salary, you should adjust your expenses and life style, get a promotion/raise (good luck with that), or seek better opportunities elsewhere.

Hahaha some VPs and SVPs are being paid out for the next couple of years. They may not be there but we're still paying for them.

@2cd thanks for the info. So there’s a difference in payout multiplier percentage for senior management versus everyone else?

@2cd so we're about to be very profitable after we finally get all that waste off the books?

@28y Yes. Bonuses were paid out for 2025. Since our numbers weren't great, I don't think the numbers were maximized to 100% of potential, at least not for those outside of senior management.

Keep in mind that those that got laid off in March were also given their bonuses, where applicable, with salary paid until may (60 days), and whatever severance they earned. Those affected in the November layoff are on still on the books until mid- January with severance.

I’m new here and curious - were bonuses paid out last year and if so what was the multiplier? As in, were they paid out at 100% of eligible % of salary or higher/lower?

Ha ha! Yvon wants people at the TH so he has an audience. The Mandate to show up in person is trickled down from management to team leads. You'll see team leads gather folks and they all walk/shuttle over to fill seats. The cool kids with parking spots drive driver over, if they're not already in the tower.

I've never been. someone please confirm there is a "laugh" and "applause" sign for the audience to react to

@dm ok yes- thanks for pointing this out. The people chuckling and laughing and STILL showing up to the TH in person are the real cuck lords.

@dm the people that laughed are the ones that are left who are trying not to be the next ones in line to get fired.

I watched the TH remotely. Did they have the laugh track running hard during Steve T's part or are there that many people at ES who laugh at the corniest of jokes?

Year end revenue needs to be finalized and bonus pool funded. If Profit Margins and sales are good, bonuses get funded in Q1 and paid to whoever is left standing after 2025Q1 layoffs. Bonus’s have been paid in April of following year based on company and division financial performance. If the bonuses are paid, they are paid first pay period in April.. It has been that way since 2015.

Any company the size of Mattel that doesn't have a way of paying its employees year-end bonuses clearly doesn't give a rats tokus about its employees.

Mattel an operating margin of ~12%. They make somewhere around $5.4 billion a year top-line. Somewhere in that $4,752,000,000 of expenses should be our year-end bonuses.

Don't we need the financials from Q4 in order to have an idea of bonuses/layoffs? We usually don't get Q4 numbers until after Q4. First layoffs. Then, if applicable, bonuses and promotions
