Changes to CXM and MBA roles?

Has anyone been told or heard anything about changes to CXM or MBA roles? Hearing something about a possible “change in responsibilities” coming?

When I asked I was told no as well, they don’t pay anymore when they are changing positions or adding to your positions. The amount of gaslighting that goes on in my store is ridiculous! Yes, add onto my workload and make it easier on the other manager sounds like a great fu--ing thing to do. At least pay me more. But hey that’s hospitality in my store, treat the managers bad and talk down to them and then ask them to rally the troops and let’s have a great day like you didn’t just act a racist abusive manager.

@337 I asked today about this and was told they were not paid anymore money when OOM got the MBA job. I’m sure she was lying like she always does.

@337 What OOM’s got MBA responsibility they are completely separate roles some SMM’s are a SMM/OOM combo I have never heard of and OOM being a MBA

My store manager didn’t even tell me about this change. I learned through the email that was sent welcoming everyone to their new role.

@2hv they aren’t going to pay us more for adding additional roles to our already hectic workload. But they certainly paid the OOM’s more when they added the MBA to their job earlier this year.

Maybe the point is that the company is trying to push the MBA out of the 130 stores. Maybe they aren’t performing. It’s a cruel way to do it but I wouldn’t put it past Macy’s.

This doesn’t make sense! I thought the specialty areas were what the company was banking on to keep its head above water. 10 years ago, the company didn’t dare give a sales manager more than 1 specialty areas due to the operational piece being heavy. The very departments that we depend on to make our days are being thrown on an already overworked individual. MBAs don’t get much help in the admin world. Our staffing is already slim and other leaders either don’t have access or can’t do our job. This will quickly turn into to burn out. If you are on the floor, how can you do the things your ASTS don’t have access to? When the fun calendar gets less engaging, someone’s pay get messed up, supplies don’t get ordered, candidate have a horrible onboarding experience because you have a customer issue in FJ or BT that isn’t easily resolved, then maybe the company will reverse this id--tic decision.

Plus there has been very little communication, no formal rollout, no star memo, and most of all no training. Just a bunch of us on a non company website confirming what our store managers said will happen. This is weird. There will be a mass exodus of MBAs in the next few months. Their replacements will not be up to par. Watch

@2kp wow this really su-ks. I am on the lower end of the pay scale and know cxms make more than I do. Doesn’t seem real that they can add more roles but not pay you anymore. I wonder if it’s just my store manager and how terrible they are. I don’t believe that the entire company treats people this way. Maybe I’m just naive

@2j6 I was told no pay increase as it was a company realignment of responsibility, I am towards the higher end of the pay range for MBA as it is and likely the highest paid Manager in my store other than the Store Manager which may be a factor as well

And when the store managers changes our roles or adds additional responsibilities to our title. Is there a pay increase? Because mine is not speaking about one.

@ 2az+1ks1qz4ns yes, this is true for around 130 of the smaller stores. It was effective June 1st. It’s really unfortunate that the company decided to eliminate so many roles that they’re now merging so many priorities on the few managers and colleagues they have left. Things are really starting to become unsustainable, at least from my perspective in a smaller store.

I’m an MBA and I haven’t heard of this?!?? I don’t even see how this is possible! We can’t be 3 places at once. Big Ticket and Jewelry are heavily operational departments that will lose money if they don’t have a day in/day out manager. The company keeps pushing us to dig deeper in our MBA roles and now we have to split our time with running the sales floor. If this is true, Macys will lose money. Something will go lacking in the MBA world because it’s not physically possible to manage the two

MBA was given Operations at my location earlier this year. Are these roles generally at the discretion of the store manager or are they purely decided by corporate?

CXMs will own the interview and onboarding process for their specific colleagues. TA will go through apps, initial screenings before passing off to stores.

In the smaller stores MBA now owns CXC’s and Jewelry, AYS if they didn’t and could also have BT if the store manager decides

MBAs in some stores will now be given sales responsibilities. Specifically, the specialized areas.
