Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

What is the point of Your Voice Matters?

Been here for years and I don’t know that I’ve seen real change come of it - certainly nothing in our favor. Senior leaders do not hold themselves accountable to the results, at least not to us. They present on the quantitative data, say they’re carefully reviewing it, then it’s crickets. Rinse and repeat for the next round.

Does the survey just exist to give us an outlet for grievances? To claim they give us the ability to share our thoughts? It certainly doesn’t feel like our voices matter. I’m at a loss.

@2hs MC and HR want us to believe that anonymous and confidential mean the same thing; they don't. The surveys have always been confidential; they have never been anonymous.

A cynical person might say that the survey is used to gauge morale and pump out propaganda to counteract ill sentiments regarding some aspect of the company. That same person might also say that the survey is used to determine who in the company will spread bad feelings toward the company.

I am skeptical about the survey being anonymous. I don't foresee myself filling that thing out. There are many fragile egos at the company. One of the best things you can do is shut up.

It's a vestige from the Richard Davis days. Subsequent CEO's have chosen to ignore the content, but they're too spineless to come right out and discontinue this charade.

As others have noted, they are not anonymous surveys. Like an exit interview with HR, you have nothing to gain by participating in the TTUS surveys. Delete them.

I would not be surprised if it was to identify and monitor employees with workplace dissatisfaction.

@cg Somebody commented on a similar post that they report all the TTUS surveys as phishing emails, and I've been following suit ever since. Brilliant.

There is no change. Don’t fill them out. Delete the email. That’s what I’ve been doing for at least the past 5 years.

Pro Tip: Avoid filling out surveys. 1, they are never anonymous 2, company personnel don't care what you wrote and 3, avoiding filling out the survey "speaks" louder than completing it.

Everyone do not fill them out.

It's for engagement. What they don't realize is that their elevated engagement numbers are because people are PI---D. They refuse to believe they're doing anything but a phenomenal job. It's really gross.

They use it to take out their poor ratings on people managers. That's basically it.

It exists to determine who is willing to compete based on obedience and who thinks for themselves. Similar to Hooman Resources being for the company, not for the employee. If you expected change you've lost the plot. Nothing you do in the internet is truly anonymous, not even this post.

No real change comes of it. All they do is act surprised why they have such a low approval rating. I don’t waste my time completing it anymore. The managing committee is so inauthentic. They’ll never change despite them touting how much they care for their employees.
