@2d8 they didn't say anything about the warehouse, I do know the warehouse is jam packed that's why they had to get the trailer for extra storage. Showroom also they did not say anything about but since they was just added last yr I doubt they're touching it. I don't think they're going to touch the kitchen either since we bringing on more people. They did say there knocking out the exec area and taking out confrence rooms and putting small privacy pods in. We'll be getting all new furniture.

Are they going to convert that warehouse part of Burlington into office space?

It’s hard to figure out how they are going to squeeze everyone already working in Burlington into building side A.

They are keeping the showroom.

I guess they will convert conference rooms into workspaces?

Are they reducing the size of the cafeteria since nobody hardly uses it?

Should be interesting….

@2b9 Speculation, we had the meeting 2 weeks ago they confirmed CFS is coming to Burlington next year. What more confirmation do you need? You must not be in Burlington or NJ.

@2b9 lol what do you mean no definitive information, General Affairs confirmed CFS is moving to Burlington. We had the meeting and HR sent an email follow up. CFS also made the announcement on there end. We will wfh Jan into Feb, CFS is planed to come in June. When we return in Feb we will all be on B side while they finish A side. Once A side is done we CSA/CUSA will be on A side and CFS B side.

Don't see any definitive information here. Just speculation. Unless you have the facts, all this thread is filled with rumors.

@1v6 thank you, good catch - that's what I meant but for some reason had Jamesburg in my head.

Still the same though - it's a much longer trip and depending where they are in Philly, considerably exceeds the "reasonable" threshold of 25 miles to commute (50 miles is considered standard reasonable but not for this pay and economy).

@1tt but CFS isnt moving to Jamesburg there moving to Burlington? Its right next to the Burlington Bristol bridge so if there coming from Philly area as you say then it may be closer for most people.

CFS space is absolutely maxed out to the point where they've practically eliminated conference rooms entirely from the building. Moving to Jamesburg would strategically make sense for condensing locations but they'll lose probably 35% of their employees to resignation immediately.

Lots of CFS employees live in the Philly region and that will be an hour+ commute both ways at minimum, probably more. That'll make Emperor Sammy happy though...gotta cut those costs and cutting people is how you do it!

As for the folks getting to work from home for six weeks...don't think that'll go unpunished. Full RTO for six weeks to make up in sure.

Then again full RTO is incoming anyway very soon.

Hopefully, there will be lots of snow & ice storms that will slow down the building work from the beginning of January to middle of February which will lead to more WFH time.

I was thinking everyone was moving to Jamesburg! Third floor is empty. It’s used as a walking track! Sounds like they might be closing Jamesburg.

@w8 Welcome to office life in Itasca. Our desks are so small and cramped together although only 1/2 our parking lot is even full anymore. But whatever.

The best thing about this is the fact we can WFH for about 6 weeks.. For the people that are moving into the other side of the building, it's def gonna be a sardine can so be prepared... Parking is prob gonna be a nightmare too, but hey who are we to complain?! 😂

@w7 Especially in peak winter time which is excellent. No long commutes in snowy/icy conditions just so I can sit at my cubicle pounding computer keys all day. I will save money in tolls, packing lunches, and aspirin from the constant migraines I get from the obnoxious coworkers. Hello, snooze button, freshly brewed coffee and a nice hot bowl of soup at lunch. These will be the best weeks of my life. It’s the simple things that bring me joy. I will savior it while it lasts.

Smaller desks, everybody will be packed in like sardines once CFS moves in. This is going to stink.

No need for all this real estate in the Canon portfolio. CBS was the best at leasing in unnecessary office space.

Let's just say this is about CFS moving to Burlington, I know for a fact they work in office Tues/Wed.. Does that mean it's gonna be the same across the board? Prob not because why would that make any sense?! Burlington has diff hours for other depts especially HR.. They work 9-430 , other depts work 9-5 and get an hour lunch. Should be interesting tomorrow...

The fact that they (Building Operations) are making it this huge deal with a "private" meeting for Burlington is ridiculous.. There has been talk of CFS coming to Burlington for a long time, hence the new lighting, etc.. If they are coming to Burlington, I would think major renovations would need to happen because of the amount of people CFS has.. I don't think Burlington is relocating.. Just my opinion..

It most likely has something to do with facilities.

It could be something as stupid as telling people not to hold doors for others due to stalkers, or it could be something as major as a planned move or some significant building renovation plan.

The fact that it’s scheduled for 4:00 tells me it’s big news and they think people will be distracted by it, so they are holding it near the end of the day.

Is this where we go into the town hall room and listen to MM & NK tell us how Canon is kicking a$$ and taking names in the industry?

They want to come clean and let you know they will no longer have water ice on Friday’s. It’s not in the budget.
