They could care less and Executive thinks any monkey can do this job. Hub, Remote etc... they could care less. You are just an unnecessary expense standing in the way of a larger SMIP bonus. If they can fire you they will and careless about where you are located. 2026 is the year that State Farm makes everyone so miserable they will make sure only the "toughest" survive or people they think checks the 2040 box! SF is a trash pile!

@dp can't get rid of remote workers, they're the only ones who know the actual job.

@28s Yes, it does cut both ways. I wasn't trying to convince my son that his perception was wrong. In fact, what I told him was something along the lines of 'It just amazes me how quickly perceptions can change'.

I agree that all of your examples are not what I would call 'warm fuzzies'. Have a great New Year!

@28c Doesn't it cut both ways? When I was hired I had a company car, it was taken away. I was a salaried employee, they changed me to time card. I worked in a field office near my family and friends. They closed that down and I had to move to an Op Center. They sold my building and now I work from home. Seems like benefits and working conditions change all the time, most of the time not to the benefit of the employee so I see where you son is coming from.

@27z My son graduated from college in 2020, and went to work at the company where he had interned the previous 2 summers. On his first day of work after actually being hired as an employee (June 2020, for those keeping track), he had a morning (one or two hours I think) onsite with HR to sign employment papers, and was then handed a laptop and told to go home, he was working from home.

Over the last few years, he has gone from 100% WFH, to 2 days a week WFH, etc. Not unlike most other peoples' experience I assume.

Now, as is the case for most, he is being told that it will be 100% in office by March 2026 (more or less).

He is somewhat offended by that. His contention is that WFH was something that was put forward as an 'Employee Benefit' when he was hired, so he views it as something that is being taken away.

I have pointed out to him that, as little as 10 yers ago, in the whole of human experience, it was normal for employees to go 'in' to the place where they were employed, in order to do their work.

He doesn't agree. Hmmmhhhh.....I'm sure there are many different opinions. And, I'm confident mine is correct. Happy New Year!

@sv or else what. You're going to quit and then they won't even have to give you the severance package? Lol

You people who think you have power or leverage here are adorable.

@a1 Not sure what early out offer you're looking at unless its for young people. The enhanced offer is way better than that but your age plus years of service need to exceed 70 for that plan

Why are you so jealous of remote employees? It's really sad to come on here and see how miserable some of you are. Especially the ones talking about they're retired. Why are you here? Why are you so obsessed? Some of you really need to get a life and learn to love yourselves. It is really pathetic. Find Jesus.

@gs more reason they need to go backin the office. They don't need to be remote.

Most of the remote workers were sent home for covid and their offices closed down. They signed nothing.

Remote workers. Just wait and see. You know more than I do. I turned down the opportunity to work remote because the fine print. Enjoy no severance.

@ey I never signed a contract stating that, so I don't know what you're talking about. I was hired as remote because there's no more offices in Northern Colorado. 43 percent of SF's workforce is remote, too. What's the plan to backfill that amount of staff? SF can't even keep up with claims with the staff they have, let alone hire enough to replace all the people who quit because of the unrealistic expectations/workload.

Fake News. Fire proximity claims is still understaffed. Look at all the recent postings. It can be a sh!tty job the new hires soon realize they need to escape from.

When you become a remote worker you sign a contract. Terms of the contract state that the company can end their relationship if business needs change. It also states there will be no severance paid out in such event.

State Farm never does the right thing for its claims employees. Claims has been a living nightmare for at least the last decade and it is getting worse. They abuse people and try to force them out plain and simple. These are not decent people and they are not interested in helping anyone. Bad company....

Whats the plan?. Some employees with no office have been fully remote for more than 5 years. I doubt it will be another 5. As always heard a 3 yr Plan. Unknown if that three years are 25,26,27 or 26,27,28. Hearing some exits for claims remote coming late 2026. As always only hearsay. The fact that all depts have the green light to utilize exit offers at their discretion would support that plan. We should start seeing some things moving and exit offers in 2026. Why would they not utilize exit offers to get higher salaries off the books, as they have the say on who gets picked for the offers.

They need to start the exit offers for remote employees in 2026 at least half and get those jobs hired in the hubs then the rest of remote exited in 2027.

They need to get rid of the remote workers badly so they can finish the final design they wanted when they started the hubs.

Return to office for those not getting the package. Remote workers get no severance. They let it go when they agreed to go remote. No change to the pension though.

Glad Im out of their mess and retired. All I have is taxes and insurance on a nice house with a boatload of equity. The people who are exiting are just putting off the inevitable. They will have to work longer and harder before they can retire. Glad that isn't me and that I wasn't in the all about me generation. Also glad I wasnt in the mass immigration generation too! Play the game, pay the price!

2 weeks pay for up to 7 years of employment and an additional 2 weeks for each 5 years after that.
