Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Layoffs Spain 2

The previous thread is getting buried by new ones.
When will the layoffs be communicated? There's some conflicting info: next week, November, February. Collective layoff (ERE) or individual dismissals? Will there be differences based on the fiscal entitity?

Sorry for asking this (first time in this situation).
How should inform the affected ones? (their manager, HR, or the Worker Council)
Will the immediately notified or after the negotiation period between Oracle and the Woc?
Thanks in advance

@16f I guess that talking to different HR teams in different locations and, maybe, talking to managers if they have a team with several people affected.

@19v The WOC will share the news when it's official, but we want to know beforehand of course. If someone has info, please share it.

I heard that HR upper management is visiting the different Spanish offices. Does it mean that process and names selection already started?

@10e The key-word here is "yet" because the company may be negotiating with the European Work Council but the local work councils can't communicate it to employees.

No list or action has been notified to works councils yet

Latest one took place in October/November 2022.

I heard rumours that some people in WOC already were informed about the list, so maybe it's close. This is only a rumour, please don't take as official info.

@cs I believe 2018 was not the last one , I recall another one in 2023 or so …

Anyway if the WOC in Spain manages to negotiate the same conditions those were not bad at all …

@OP The company made individual dismissals In July. They have to wait at least 90 days before announcing an ERE, according to Spanish laws. I think they could wait more time to prevent legal issues.

Which were the condition of previous ERE (RIF)? People was able to volunteer or exchange?

Although last conditions might be different than future ERE, it would be good to understand how the company makes this things

If more than 30 people within a legal entity are affected, the company is legally required to inform the works council and begin a one-month consultation process. Once that communication happens, it will be the first concrete indication of what’s actually taking place in Spain. This didn't happen yet

Until then, everything remains speculation — although many of the rumors are based on reasonable data points.

In the absence of such communication, it’s very likely that we are still at least (minimum) a month away from any large-scale layoff taking effect, since it is the minimum notification period in case of a more than 30 people lay off
