Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Is the employee survey safe to fill out honestly?

Not trying to lose my job, but would also love to tell them how bad it’s gotten here.

@25e noticed the survey has been extended. Sounds like little response or most responses were honest about the toxic environment. Little pay. Harassment. Blatant favoritism. S-xism.

@1qa - I would be honest. The question you should be asking is whether or not the company will be honest with you about the results.

Did anyone respond to the survey? If so were you honest or did you hold back?

If enough people refuse to fill it out, the message will be louder.

@dk Nothing. Consider it junk mail or spam, which isn't far from the truth. Companies don't care about employee opinions. Privately, I bet they just laugh.

@ra if you do respond to the survey then post the same statement in every comment box regardless of the question.

Not worth it. It's obvious that they don't care what employees think. Based on the comments on this forum, it's obvious to the world that Canon, under this CEO, has done everything to su-k the life, soul and talent out of the company. It's like the man's on a mission to destroy, not help, Canon. It's all about profitability. Unfortunately, profits have already taken a hit and the CEO can blame tariffs all he wants, but the simple fact is this sociopath is the worst thing since Ken Lay Enroned his employees, customers and the government. Look where that got him? In time, karma will come to the CEO.

The way the survey is structured and worded, it’s hard to address the real issues. The questions/statements are too vague, and won’t lead to any productive feedback or change.

We all know this survey is a waste of time.. The fact that you get daily emails asking you to fill it out, screams that it's not anonymous... Do they really think they will have a great turnout of people filling it out? Nothing any of us say will be heard, and they def won't be making any changes.. It's always the big runaround...

@av you are correct it doesn’t matter. Also don’t believe it’s anonymous.

@dk what about it? Are you asking if there will be repercussions?

@ap why would HR go after an employee for filling out an “anonymous” survey? Because it’s not…..anonymous?

What if we skipped doing the survey?

If Canon was ever found to be utilizing information provided in an anonymous survey it would be very damaging let alone a major lawsuit.

Senior management knows people are not happy. They don’t need a survey. What have they done about it? Nothing.

This company should be ashamed of themselves for how they treat their employees. I suggest be brutally honest and let them know how bad the culture of this company has become. I don’t trust senior leadership. The overall communication from the highest levels is not there. Keep blaming tariffs as a reason to stick it to us.

The funny thing is they tell you it's anonymous but yet they send you reminders that you need to fill it out... If you do, you do, if you don't, that's your choice.. Is it really going to make a difference? They promised other things would be addressed during the last survey and to date, nothing of importance was addressed..

@OP HR will not step unless you are already on the radar! Be honest and give details. Remember, you can use AI to help proof your work.

If it’s anon then why do you have a specific link only you can access?

From AI response asking the same:

At an employer, the aggregated GP Strategies survey reports are typically accessible to managers and supervisors within the organization who oversee the respective groups or teams. These managers are encouraged to review the aggregate reports to understand team engagement levels and take appropriate actions to boost engagement.
Specifically, managers and supervisors receive only aggregated data for their teams or departments, with confidentiality maintained by only providing reports where there are six or more responses in a group to protect anonymity. Individual survey responses are not visible, ensuring privacy for employees.
Managers use these reports to hold team meetings focused on engagement findings and to guide conversations aimed at improving workplace culture and employee satisfaction. Higher-level stakeholders, such as HR leadership or senior management, may also have access to broader aggregated survey results for the entire organization or larger segments, to inform strategic decisions on employee engagement programs.

TLDR
They will read the results with nothing identifying you & only if more than 6 team members under a manager in your “group” not sure what designates a group though
