@7e3 The layoffs happened on Oct 2nd in USA. They kept the young/inexperienced/higher salary, and got ride of 50plus/with experience/lower salary. Nokia is lost. They don't know how to execute.

@2gy Nokia groups will be affected in Oct for NAM.
And Infinera employees will mainly start to feel it in Feb'2026 onward, as upper management start to figure out all the duplicate rolls starting in Oct'2025 till Dec'2025.

@gw My manager manages only a handful people and is a constant annoyance. Wake up and there are 3 pings before the work day starts and constant pinging throughout the day. Instead of actually letting us do work, he's dotting the i's and crossing the t's in processes and being authoritative instead of helping with taking on a task for himself since the project is massive and we are understaffed.
Managers only know how to manage instead of being a team member and actually helping out with the project. Meta recently fired many managers who didn't have the skills or help out by taking on difficult tasks and challenges for themselves for a project. Nokia should learn from Meta (Facebook).

The CEO should look at the number of manager per organization. With all the AI tools available now, there shouldn't be a manager within the company (and I mean ALL organizations) where managers manage less than 25 to 30 people. Also, no need for multiple manager on projects with shared employee resources. Example: Manager A has 10 people under them, Manager B has 6 people from Manager A's team working on a project. Manager C has the other 4 people from Manager A team working on a different project. What's the point of having Manager A? Only to attend the project meetings and approve the PTO time sheet? What a waste of money! Instead of the CEO looking at the lower level employee staffing, he should focus on reducing the layers and layers of management. With all the AI tools available now, does Nokia really need all those management layers?
