I’m hearing that across the US. Many midsized customers will go warehouse in October. What’s the word out there?

I heard all the d stores . Mainly
Hispanic markets like el
Super . Superior . Vallarta’s Northgate . That’s like 100% of my current route .
Company has several useless management positions that do nothing but forward emails. Funny they continue to eliminate the positions that do the actual work.
@1mr There is ABSOLUTELY No need for the rdr position , eliminate that and hire more quality merchandisers ,then start weeding out the slackers..
@1mr yeah, I dont know what any of them do above merchandising manager...and i do know the people that created Mission one were completely out of touch with the reality in the stores.
Let’s take it a step above the DM, why do the RDR make so much? What do they actually do?? we’re all doing the brutal grunt work to get this garbage on the shelves and make the money, and we make the least. Nobody wants to shift through endless pallets of sh-t every day for this wage when you can get a job that’s not ki-ling your knees for the same wage and a lot easier
Praise doesn't exist at mondelez. Our management consists of lazy a--holes
The problem is...while there's many...from PT to FTOW to sales reps. They are not paid enough to be able to live. Atleast SR have company cars, so they don't need to worry about the cost of fuel and getting assigned to stores miles away. Who can survive on $20 an hour? Newly hired sales reps are lucky to get $45k salary. Its a total slap in the face. Theres so many responsibilities from day to day and more keep getting added. Local grocery stores pay similar to bag groceries. Whats the incentive to put a lot of miles on a personal car, jump through many hoops at the stores, get treated poorly by stores AND our own management never praises or gives any thanks to anyone. Our management only finds faults with everything we do.
Heres the solution - Increase the wages across the board (why do higher ups get such a huge salary?!), increase GAS allowances, give praise to the workers, our workers in the store. They are the backbone of this. If we did not employee merchandisers and sales reps. where would we be!!!
Like 18-19 hr. It's a bridge job til you find something better
What do most full time order writers make? Maybe they need to start at a much better wage.
Yea 18/hr is not going to get/keep anyone good
It pays 18-20 an hour here to start, nobody worth hiring is applying.
@w5 it’s probably because no one is applying
I'm down to 1 ftow on my territory. They still haven't hired anyone ....
When our RVP came out to walk stores last year, there was talk about dropping some accounts to warehouse. Targets being one of them especially since they refused to follow any sales programs completely across the board. There was even a mention of dropping smaller chains that end up costing more than than they actually generate in profit as a whole to deliver to and maintain. But all those things were still up in the air.. from a business standpoint, that does make sense and if you're a veteran of the company you will remember when we as a company cut ties with independent grocery chains. Even the ones that could generate more revenue than some of the bigger stores from bigger chains. I shop at alot of independent stores where I live and it looks like they do so much better after going warehouse. They have the same ads if not better, they always look full even when we have shortage issues and some even have actual Nabisco fixtures like our 3D endcaps in their stores.. there's no telling what our future in the industry holds but changes are coming and they are being very careful not to share those just yet.
Company is so focused on cutting labor , they don’t care about retail conditions , then pat them selves on the back and collect their bonus for being on labor budget , all the while the whole dsd is a sh-t show..
@OP when are all stores going warehouse? Who else is so shorthanded that quitting seems like the only solution.
I hope we lose Target. They’re the worst thing I’ve had to deal with in retail for the past twenty years. It’s like they want their shelves empty.
@jw we still have to.
@OP for sure target since we’re not required to use pitcher app there to sell, ha ha
After the new Target reset, I can completely see that 100% with them.
Define mid sized...like no supercenters?
It would make sense
