Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Why wouldn't you?

There are much better employers out there, in fact you'd have to work very hard to find a worse employer than DXC.
Having DXC on your CV will not block you from getting another role. Some employers will view it as -ve, especially if you've been there a long time, but certainly not all. If you've been there a long time you might be holding on for a nice big WFR payment but honestly, it's probably not worth the stress of remaining with DXC when you look at where you could be instead.
I, and others like me, have proved that there is life after DXC. There's a whole world of good, responsible employers out there who won't treat you badly - most will treat you well.
DXC is not a jail, you can walk out any time you like and go somewhere far better. Why wouldn't you?

Great post, @6gsq+1dqc06As. I understand both complains and bitter criticism, however, I don’t understand why despite everything people still choose to stay here and suffer for months or even years?

@1miq+1dxG2IiO - You are indeed a manager @ DXC!

An experienced and capable manager would probably not call staff losers or even admit to being incapable of helping or offering advice.

If you are keen to break rank, do so in a positive manner, remind all of the training/certification tracks available, share CV template links etc - for those that have lost drive then use your Inside knowledge to explain how best to milk the system!

All who come here know the score. Some like myself managed to resign (9yrs HPE/DXC) and get a significant improvement to standard of living - I turned 57 this year. It is utter boll-cks that people cannot improve their lot because of Age!

''The number of posts telling people to stop complaining and leave makes me think this is a DXC management tactic to avoid paying WFRs''

as a manager of a large team in ANZ I can confirm that DXC is aware of the cohort of skilled people that will not leave regardless of the lack of pay rises and ever increasing workload. If you are over 50 and have been with csc/hp now DXC for over 10 years you are virtually unemployable elsewhere due to the lack of training and development.

Its a hard truth but if you are one of these employees DO NOT expect to be in either the pool for promotion or WFR - they know you have few alternatives

The number of posts telling people to stop complaining and leave makes me think this is a DXC management tactic to avoid paying WFRs. If people are so happy in their new companies why would they bother coming back to post on this site?

People stay for their own reasons:

  1. Fear of change. Some have never worked anywhere else and have worked at DXC so long they are institutionalized. I've been at DXC for 3 years and there are many many people I work with I wouldn't employ. They are never going to leave.
  1. Age. Its easy to say leave but there is no denying that opportunities for IT staff over 50 diminish rapidly. The exceptions of some older people getting a job doesn't make the rule.
  1. Location. Whether there are good opportunities can depend on where you work. Many aren't prepared to uproot their lives and relocate.
