More Org Changes in GCAS

GCAS moving to a functional accountability model, head of CIM APAC is gone and will be overseen by a US head. Honestly this is a good change because CIM APAC has been a disaster for years with no accountability or desire to follow required internal or regulatory processes.

@1me Give us some examples of how they jeopardize client relationships.

@1k6 I honestly wish the management committee had even an inkling of how bad it is and how so many RMs jeopardize our relationships with clients every single day. If they really knew, there would be a major upheaval in distribution tomorrow.

@1h1 some of the RMs and RMAs seem so wildly ignorant and inexperienced in their technical investment experience that it is a joke that they are allowed to be in front of clients

@1h1 totally agree. And they are terrible at actually setting reasonable expectations with clients or figuring out how to talk to them about what they really need, and sometimes talk them off a ledge about stuff too. They just push emails around with no clue how to really manage relationships and then investments, GCAS, and other groups need to swoop in and try to patch things up with clients, often at the last minute when it might be too late.

@km honestly don’t know what the freakin RMAs do. What is their job? Direct queries to GCAS and ISG??? Get rid of them.

@an APAC GCAS do a lot of work and service a lot of clients. CIM is a different beast. Few inflows and new mandates mean they’re not needed.

GCAS do a lot of the work the RM team can’t/won’t do. The RM team don’t actually really service clients at all, they just leave it to GCAS.

@aj I think it means less middle management? Like APAC CIM head. I too think APAC GCAS has been awful. First off the concept of CIM doesn’t make sense when there aren’t that many new mandates and funds. Also why are there so many in GCAS. They take up a whole pod of desks in my office.
