And push as many of us out as they can along the way. Anyone who thinks this is about anything other than maximizing profits by getting rid of people on the cheap is being naive.

@1x4 you’re the troll!
All these Karens feed into the gas lighting…pathetic.
You all will be out of a job soon…remote working or not.
@1wa This troll again...
It will be a pain for the Caribbean remote workers. How are they going to get to work? I don’t think Paramount has offices in the Caribbean,,,do they?
@1d0 who cares?
@1k7 wow so much pride about that shithole. Are you aware there’s places more expensive than NYC?
@1k0 They can and they will unless you can get a medical exemption for stress which seems like it would be sort of a hard sell.
@1k0 there are stabbings in Times Square almost monthly. A few months ago there was a bo-b threat across the street and the building didn’t make one peep about it.
And lets just say some incident happens which questions people's safety in Times Square....then goodbye RTO. They cant force someone to come to work if they fear for their safety.
@1d0 that post really hit a nerve with you.
@140 I don't understand the lens through which you view the world.
@as we found the boot li---r
@140 Define "remote working". Does that mean the company is going to stop using the VPN for remote work? Or, theyre not going to expect us to log in after we leave the office or take a sick day?
That would be a decent trade then, to leave your job at the door when you leave the office at the end of the day.
@wd nice try.
Remote working is history. Get over it.
@xa There have to be a lot of US based employees who fall in the remote group. I work with one who lives over 6 hours away. Although he hasnt said anything, there is zero chance he goes RTO as it would be impossible and would have no choice but to take the package. Im sure hes not alone. Theyre all just hoping the RTO becomes a sht show and by Q2 the company says they can stay remote.
If that happens, RTO is slowly going to fall apart. And by that I mean they probably wont harass people who only come in 3 days.
@wd I would just love to know how many US based employees fall into round 2 in general.
@rj They don't have to name names. Give us the islands that they all live on and the headcount on each island. Big claims require big receipts -- although anonymous claims get away with just lying.
I love how overly positive all the internal RTO communications have been.
"We are so excited to be all together again in January!"
Its like putting a child's picture of the sun on a window during a rainy day. lol.
Good ol' reverse psychology which only works on weak minds. lol.
@mk why would they post the details? This board is anonymous. Get a clue.
@m9 If David Ellison wants to work from the Caribbean, who are you to judge? His daddy bought him that island fair and square! You just made the mistake of not being born a rich kid, so stop being jealous that you had such lousy parents and that you didn't become a millionaire at birth. You're what's wrong with America!

@k5 So you're saying that all the best and brightest tech talent is contained within a commutable distance of NYC and Los Angeles? If they arent in those areas then its an instant toss? You're a relic of the past.
@m8 If this is legit, provide the details about these alleged Caribbean remote workers. How many, what group are they with, etc. otherwise stop posting the same cr-p on all the threads about RTO.
@kn Who is responsible for allowing employees to enjoy the good life of working remotely on a beach???Their bosses should be fired immediately.
@m2 what are you talking about. Speak English!
@kn what tech team has remote workers in the Caribbean that just moved there from NY or LA? People or maybe just you keep mentioning this with no actual details. If they are individuals hired remote initially out of the Caribbean that is a different story and isn’t any different then having tech staff in Poland or India.
@k5 I agree. They milk the system. They need to go. We have remote workers in the Caribbean? How is that allowed?
@jd the remote workers are a fraud.
@jd The thing is that a number of tech people at Paramount weren't working traditional hours or days to begin with. There were tech people working remote days for the Company even before COVID. Just another reason this 5 day RTO is rubbish. It is not a one size fits all.
Wait till they make the decision in Q2/Q3 to let remote workers stay remote. Then see how much compliance you get with the 5 day RTO staff. Maybe you'll get 2-3 days. The trend is that management of RTO companies are not firing high performers for 2-3 days. Read the article in the WSJ published around the time we announced RTO.
And if mgmt decides that fully remote need to RTO...good luck with that. You could lose upwards of 50% or more of your tech staff. I know...this is a media company, the tech guys aren't core to the business. Uh huh.
@gk hey it’s going to be cr-p for a while. Might as well ride it out at home until someone solves things or we get fired. Thats what all me and my top performers are going to do.
@em Well okrs are going to be upped after everyone is back which is the point. So before u had only top performers but now it turns out lower performers exist and have to go to the office? Problem is they should be on a plan to improve or be fired. This company has been too satisfied with mediocre performance and can no longer blame “uncertainty”’and lack of leadership for the results. We have too many people working for cable like it’s still a thing, a horrible app that is poorly interfaced and has performance bugs. The okrs or kpis — whatever you call them are adding up to mediocrity when reached. So spare us all how some should work from home while the consumer facing product is cr-p.
Our new leadership didn’t create the rto trend. Every industry is a copycat one and follows the trends others start to save money. This is the new reality, so nothing u say is going to change things. They are not going to create a new trend for others to follow and let u stay home. I’m not saying anyone is a fraud but what do u expect them to do with all the real estate leases. Also u can’t have a company where some have a better quality of life than others just based off their function — unless your function is one where u can get a remote job anywhere due to your unique and highly valued skills. Clearly they and others decided to role the dice. What major media co is luring any function w promise of being fully remote? If u can really name one pls apply. I’m sure there are a million apps for a few jobs.
Remote working = fraud…just sayin.
@e2 That's a cute narrative but they all have OKRs they need to hit and they consistently exceed them. Maybe you are just a bad leader who doesn't know how to run a distributed organization? 70% of my people are remote, and they do a great job. The ones who don't, I require to be in the office. It's called being a leader and focusing on results, not where you are sitting. Sitting in an office to sit in an office is for dinosaurs unless your job actually requires it.
@c5 if you really feel everyone of your group of 45 are all top performers you are part of the problem and must not have objective standards for talent assessment. Or maybe it’s just that you don’t closely monitor their work.
@be you are not an employee or just a relic. Nobody is this stupid. I am in office and the majority of my 45 people are remote and they are all top performers. Sitting in an office just to be in an office is an absolute waste of time. I like going in for the social aspect but that’s it.
@ag no not 5 days a week. It wasn’t forced. Do you even work for Paramount or are you just a troll?
