Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

You are never truly safe

Two weeks ago the Appeals dept was notified TWICE in one week!!! The first time was with the entire dept letting them know that ONLY Medicaid appeals was going to be outsourced thru a vendor who has staff in the Philippines and India in early 2026. The same vendor that Payment Integrity and Member Services uses. During this meeting they confirmed there would indeed be layoffs, but not until around Q1. Then there was a 2nd meeting with a bunch of mixed appeals teams and Leaders (all LOB'S and types of appeals) where the staff were told to get their resumes updated, start applying to internal positions, external positions. The Leaders told the staff they understood and supported the staff if they fina a job now and left the company. Some staff asked why should they look now if layoffs were not coming until Q1, but the staff never got a clear answer.

This is an old post from @cj+1jwwq1kjb, but I thought it needed to be on the top for info.

@1j2 Agreed, the silence is worse knowing we can see what’s happening and they still refuse to address it. In due time I guess, just been waiting for a random meeting invite all day in worry. This is the sad part.

@1hz I was thinking the exact same thing. All of these major things going on that will effect our employment and it’s nothing but crickets. I’m almost more mad about the silence than the potential outcomes at this point. No respect

It sure is eerily quiet today, however I can see all of upper management in meetings. RIP healthcare. Hopefully they let us know something sooner rather then later.

ambetter outsourced review nurses from philippines, which was a complete disaster, it still is. mind you, some of these nurses are NCLEX passes, being paid 20$ PER DAY!

@OP That totally makes sense. What to they have in the Philippines? TONS of nurses that can do our jobs remotely for cheap! Last time I used my clinical skills was over 20 years ago. It's going to be tough to find a job once sh*t hits the fan.

Agreed. NTT, despite their less than stellar work and results, is having more and more claims work at every level shuffled their way, along with a good deal of member services and payment integrity work being handled by them already.

Management has been dead silent since the company officially withdrew their guidance and stocks tanked. I tried poking a few people that are typically in the know when bad sh-t is going down and it's just been silence on all fronts. No one is saying anything, just pretending that nothing happened and it's freaky.

I've already updated my resume and have been sending it out left and right.

Fingers crossed, I'll get some responses soon.

The company townhall is coming up soon, so we'll see what the powers that be officially say. Most likely it'll be a bunch of a-s pats and empty platitudes as the layoff emails commence like last time :-/

You are never truly safe when you have a CEO named Sarah London.
