@cj I am also part of the Medicare Appeals team and agree no clear answer was given as to what exactly is going to happen. Work is starting to become less and less as the outsourced team in India are doing more and more of the work. I have a feeling us in Intake won’t make it tie Q1

A colleague of mine told me over 40 people on his team were laid off... so so sad!

Interesting, as my understanding was that Medicare and Medicaid could not be outsourced to foreign countries because they are " government funded" (reality is they are taxpayer funded). BUT I am sure they will figure out how to get around it, just like they get around reporting layoffs under the Federal WARN Act. Centene is a walking contradiction - "We do what is right, not what is easy" is the biggest bullsh-t line out there. It's a joke, and this company will essentially go down in flames, but not before CSuite takes us for every penny and dips.

@cj what appeals teams? Plan teams or corporate teams? Clinical or non-clinical appeals?

@cj I know some states , Texas for example, prohibit by law the use of offshoring. be interesting to see how they get around that.

Two weeks ago the Appeals dept was notified TWICE in one week!!! The first time was with the entire dept letting them know that ONLY Medicaid appeals was going to be outsourced thru a vendor who has staff in the Philippines and India in early 2026. The same vendor that Payment Integrity and Member Services uses. During this meeting they confirmed there would indeed be layoffs, but not until around Q1. Then there was a 2nd meeting with a bunch of mixed appeals teams and Leaders (all LOB'S and types of appeals) where the staff were told to get their resumes updated, start applying to internal positions, external positions. The Leaders told the staff they understood and supported the staff if they fina a job now and left the company. Some staff asked why should they look now if layoffs were not coming until Q1, but the staff never got a clear answer.

There have been no rumors that I know of, but it doesn't hurt to check.
