Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

January 12 Workforce Reduction

Notifications will be given on January 12. Those subject will remain employed through January 16. Shared services is aggressively making cuts with no plans to fix lack of workforce available to fulfill client needs.
I work for a state agency that recently contracted with GWT for the promise of cost. I was against the negotiation, but I don’t have enough sway to have made it otherwise. I also used to work for GWT so I have this info passed to me first hand. Take it or leave it.

How can you call it layoff when the position were replaced? I was laid off and my position was replaced before I was laid off. Can you imagine this company will have you train your replacement.

@1em Follow on meeting today regarding PM rebadging to Infinite. Maybe we will learn numbers today as to how many Shared Service PMs are to be rebadged and how many staying Gainwell.

@1ch I think that was just for shared services. I don't know. I'm waiting to hear from PMs at the account.

@179 Is it only 30 or so Share Service PMs that are being rebadged to Infinite? I thought it was to be much bigger than that.

Given the All Hands meeting that Pinky Patnaik just had on Thursday, it is CLEAR that developers are no more (Abacus is replacing them). It's also clear (and it was stated in so many words and in a ppt slide) that data analysts are going to be reduced to just an Interface Lead Analyst, with 2 Data Analysts, and an Interface ETL Lead. The actual creation of the ICD, mapping documents, UTRs and test results will all be done by Abacus Interface Analysts, not Gainwell Data Analysts.

If you haven't been looking for another employer yet, start today!

@OP does this have to do with the 30 or so Shared Services Project Managers (PMs) being rebadged to Infinite next week, or is this rebadging something else in addition to WFRs next week?

@eg We are talking about a company in the verge of bankruptcy that is about to be investigated for some serious crimes. Why is everyone thinking they are going to get severance?

@cd any idea where shared services is beginning these layoffs? Is it in any one tower or is it across towers? I could imagine they would like to cut staff &have a TFAL manage several states, like the managers handle several. I'm a current employee, but haven't been able to find work elsewhere. Are they going to do any severance?

@cv Maybe you should find another job instead of thinking you need the government teet to take care of you. Gainwell has apparently programmed you to think it’s best to steal it instead of working for it. That’s Gainwell at its finest.

Everyone at GW is looking. You can't just quit or you won't get unemployment.

With all of the information that has come out about Gainwell over the past year or so - for anyone choosing to stay employed there or take a job there you are assuming the risk of being laid off at any moment, willfully being part of a company with zero integrity, being part of an organization that will basically steal from the states to survive. By staying employed there or taking a job there employees are accepting their fate of being laid off and gaining experience from a company with very poor standards. It’s a recipe for failure and a problem in your career. Other organizations are going to see experience at Gainwell as a negative and avoid hiring people from there. Nothing but a massive black cloud is hanging over Gainwell and that cloud is getting bigger by the day.

This company preys on the weak to fill their pockets. The leaders are all part of the steal.

Get out of there and avoid Gainwell at all costs. Waiting is only going to hurt you more. Investigations are under way. Nothing but trouble is in Gainwell’s future. Any company that hires the Heller law firm is up to no good.
